Tyler Vagyler Mock Draft w/ Trade

How does trading back fit in with Gman's BPA philosophy? Surely by trading back you're not picking the BPA but I guess it gives more picks to play with. Interesting idea though.

This was my first thought as well. The only reason I could think of was the value of remaining players at 25 being close the value in the early 2nd. Couple that with getting an extra pick in the other rounds makes it a good deal.

man, with all due respect...all these trades are kinda spastic. I know there will be some trades here and there, but trying to mock with trades is really over doing it.

not to mention I'm not sure you drafted more than 1 or 2 starters that will benefit us this year. we need to do better than that. namely a #1/2 receiver, a slot receiver, an OLB, a CB and possibly a safety.

I don't see any starting caliber tackles outside of the top 20 picks and there are definitely starters to be had in our first 3-4 picks.

Well, this is just for fun. I'm not trying to predict the draft. I made one with a trade just to change things up. Not sure what you mean by "all these trades" when I only made one. With that said, not sure how it's "spastic". It's a simple trade back. Whether or not it's realistic I really don't know because I have no clue what some of these teams are actually thinking or if they are really sold on certain players.

As far as your comment "I'm not sure you drafted more than 1 or 2 starters that will benefit us this year".....do you really expect to find 3+ starters in one draft class? That's not an easy thing to do and definitely not something you should set as an expectation.

But just to relay my opinion based on what you say we need...

#1/2 WR - Devin Smith can play on the outside and possibly fill the void as the #2 WR opposite of KB.

Slot WR - Hardy is a perfect fit as a slot WR. Great route-runner, reliable hands, YAC ability.

Safety - Tartt has great size and athleticism. Solid against the run. High ceiling.

CB - Swann has good size, decent speed, physical against the run, capable of blitzing

Also added a promising OT.

I just don't understand your argument. It's nearly impossible to find a starter at every position of need in one draft class.

re Tyler

maybe I went over the top calling it spastic and I do appreciate the time you took to put this together. I know we can find 2 starting WR. I mean, we have to do better than Cotchery and Bersin...and maybe even Brown...but I have seen some flashes from him and he improved a lot during the season. we still have a chance to address one of those WR spots in FA and I really can't see us drafting more than 2 WRs

we can absolutely draft an OLB to compete for a starting spot.

We brought in a ST player or 2, but not sure if they are starting caliber...so maybe we draft a CB that can compete for a starting spot...but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

and we can absolutely draft a safety who could reasonably overtake Harper.

I'm not expecting a starting OL or one at DT...but we could draft a DE/DT to compete with Alexander and Ealy for that RE position.

we got starters last draft in KB, Ealy, Turner, Brown, Benwikerie and Boston...not to mention the UDFAs along our OL...so I know Getts and the FO have the ability to add a few starters this offseason. crossing my fingers
