this could be our Kam Chacellor and could take over Thomas Davis' role whenever TD hangs 'em up.

I would take him in the first. talk about value and versatility. if you want it, this guy's got it.

Overview

In 2014, Thompson was the winner of the fifth annual Paul Hornung Award, given to the nation's most versatile player. Scored six touchdowns in 2014, two as a running back and four on defense (one interception return and three fumble returns). Started at tailback for Huskies at Colorado, rushing for 174 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries and had two receptions for 41 yards. Played in 40 games in his three-year career, finishing with 3.5 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, 16 passes defensed and five fumble recoveries. As a senior at Grant High School in California, named first-team All-America by Rivals.com and was one of six finalists for the U.S. Army National Player of the Year Award. Thompson was a sprinter, long-jumper and a standout baseball player who was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 18th round of the 2012 MLB Draft. Struggled to put a bat on the ball and gave up the sport to concentrate on football.

I'm sold on this guy as our first rounder if he falls to us.

His best comparison is Thomas Davis and Kam Chancellor. How could you pass that up if you had the chance to draft that type of player?

Not only would he be a sure-fire starter at WOLB, but he gives us insurance at both the safety and SOLB positions in case he needed to fill in for TD at SamLB or box safety.

He has said he wants to play on the line and he has the versatility to be an every down defender that can cover the run, drop back into coverage and pressure on blitz packages.

TD and Luke can bring him along as a LB and has Roman to get acclimated if he was needed as a coverage safety that can be used as a spy with the strength to shed screens led by TEs.

smoothest and most fluid athlete in the draft with instincts off the charts.
