So getting back to the draft, am I the only one getting tired of seeing DJ Humphries mocked to us?

So now that FA died down and a few days have passed and we havent even brought anyone in for a visit, I think its now time to turn our attention to the draft since its about 5-6 weeks away, (which btw I hate the NFL for changing the draft all the way until last day of April, sooo far away.)

So with that being said, literally every mock draft that matters, from NFL.com to ESPN, SI, Walter Football, CBSsports ALL have us drafting DJ Humphries and I have to be honest, im just not feeling that pick. Now grant it im 100% a NFL guy and I dont follow college football at all (just never caught my attention and it just doesnt come close to the excitement that is the NFL) so im not expert on Humphries, but from the draft analysis I have read and the vids I have seen, I just dont sense anything special about him.

Dont get me wrong, maybe in the 2nd round or 3rd round, then again I am on the WR bandwagon so I might be a little bias, but still, I just know that im not feeling the Humphries pick. Personally I want a WR in the 1st.. Breshad Perriman, Jaelen Strong or even Phillip Dorsett. I dont care which one, I would be happy with either one of those WRs in the 1st.

Yes I know it all starts with the O line, but even with a shaky O line I just feel a true no 2 WR to take pressure off KB will have more overall impact than Humphries.

Happens every year to every team. The media group thinks certain prospects to certain teams and eventually all the mocks look pretty much the same.

Hey your dxterity! I just youtubed vids of KB getting drafted and Star getting drafted literally like 20 minutes ago just to get some kimd of draft fix (im 31, married with a kid, and im craving the draft so bad lol so cut me a break) and watched your reaction vids! Lol cool stuff man.

All the mocks last year had us taking Morgan Moses. A few years back, every mock for about three years straight had us taking a TE.

Don't know if that's the guy DG wants, but if it is I'm OK with it.

 

He has all the physical ability to be a good LT in the NFL.  

 

Doesn't mean he would be though.

 

And doesn't mean DG would pick him.

 

But if he does, I'm cool with it.

I'm not big on Humphries, he's not who I would pick even if I were forced to choose an OT, but if Gettleman picks him I'm on board.  Dorsett though, that one would be tough to get behind.  I don't get why a lot of people are infatuated with him.  I'd take a shot on him in like the 4th, maybe the third if Hardy is gone and we haven't taken a WR yet.  All I see in him so far is a 1 trick pony, speed.  There's probably a good 10 WRs or more in this class I'd take over him.

I genuinely would be surprised if we draft a T in the first round.  I know we need one, maybe 2, but WR seems to be the pressing need.

I'm just not very impressed by this "deep" class of OTs.  Would not be surprised if we take Ogbuehi in the 2nd or 3rd.  DG seems to like him and he'll slip due to his ACL injury.  This OT class just doesn't impress me athletically.  These guys seem to have low ceilings.  Collins and Fisher are the only ones that impress me when watching their workouts.  I know, I know.  A bunch of guys are gonna start screaming about "game tape" now, but those workouts show you what type of sheer athleticism a guy has and those guys aren't facing the J.J. Watts, Justin Houstons, Von Millers, Clay Matthews, etc. of the world on Saturdays in college.

Go find full college games from last year online and watch them - in particular, certain prospects you're interested in. Make your own mock draft. Don't listen to a bunch of guys who don't have a clue what they're talking about. Make your own opinions and decide which guys you like and want us to draft. Don't blindly look at other "experts" make mocks and say you're tired of it. Or do what I do. I've been watching almost every single game of the season over and comparing players at certain positions. Like QBs or WRs, etc. Compare certain quarterbacks against the same team. See what each player's strengths and weaknesses are and see where they need work then see if they improve the next season.
