Realistic prediction: 5-11 this season

until i see a couple regular season games played I'm still predicting 10-6. IMO this team has four main problems right now.those problems are on defense and can be fixed.

1. we need to get healthy. beason, davis, gamble, kemo all of those injuries are hurting us. but with the exception of kemo all should be back by week two. (I'm thinking beason misses week 1)

2. for some reason everybody forgot how to tackle. but the good news is this is a problem that can be fixed. and hopefully by week 1 it will not be an issue.

3. adjustments need to be made on defense. the current front four that we have is not gonna get allot of pressure. hopefully during the regular season we will see more aggressive play calling. and i pray we don't see the DBs playing ten yards off the receiver as much.

4. we need at least one DT. i am very confident this is gonna be addressed soon either by trade or a free agent. we don't need a stud. but we need an upgrade.

IMO if these things are addressed we will be fine. if we start off the season 0-3 or 0-4 then i will start to panic. but until then I'm confident we will contend for the division title and be in the playoffs once again.

Well poo I guess I should start pulling for a winning team since I seem to always pick the losers. Why watch the season? Why think we could be a good team? Why be positive at all. Does anybody know where I can find some cheap nylon rope? If I'm gonna go out I might as well cum and go at the same time Auto-erotic asphyxiation here I come!

I see what your saying Jangler, but its hard to remain positive when your not seeing any good results.

With that being said, this will be a final test for Fox. He can not play Fox ball with the defense we have and our offense is going to have to be a bit more aggressive this year.

I dont think we are doomed, but we may have to stop the field position play and just try to score as many points as possible.

Boy if we start off 0-3 or 0-4 we would be a game back in the division and 3 back in the conference.

I am not going to predict our record, but I can unserstand where the predictions are coming from. What has been positive for this team this off-season? We have had nothing to get excited about during the pre-season and to top it off Jarret is def looking like a bust.

A few positives I am excited about thus far:

Goodson has looked good.

Dan Cannor has played solid MLB.

Steve Smith looked in mid-season form last night.

Hoover is blocking his ass off.

Our backups are getting alot of good reps against the 1's which will help during the regular season should we need them to step up.

I'm going to say 8-8 until we get a big NT in there. If we can get a guy that can dominated the line of scrimmage like Kemo did then we will be ok. If they don't make any moves then we are going to go downhill fast...

There was a guy on the radio that said losing Kemo is worse for us than losing Peppers would have been. I thought it was a ridiculous statement at the time but right now I am thinking that guy might have been right. I can't think of a player (given our depth) that is more difficult to replace on defense than Kemo.

Yep. The Cardinals only had to survive until the playoffs last year. If only the Panthers were in the NFC West.

Well, I don't know if you're being sarcastic because that doesn't carry well over the internet, but I'm basing a lot of it on my belief that none of the presumable frontrunners in the NFC South (Saints, Panthers, and Falcons) are really heads and shoulders better than the other, a la the Cards/formerly the Seahawks in the NFC West. Certainly, the Saints do some things better than the Falcons and the Panthers do some things better than the Saints and all the various combination possible with that, but I don't really believe that any one of the three teams is more complete than the other two. Thus, I think whoever makes it through the rest of the schedule with the least injuries and setbacks is probably going to take the division.

That said, even though the winner of the NFC South might have something of a weak record, having played such a tough schedule should pay dividends in the playoffs.
