70 million reasons to be very optimistic heading into next season.

For those in a panic (which I admit included me a few days ago until I came to my senses) 70 million.. Let that number sink in, 70 MILLION. That number right there represents what our cap space will be next off season, hard to believe after these years in cap hell huh?

Lets me put into perspective how good of shape we will be in next year. This year we have peanuts 13 million in cap space and we dont even have our two franchise players in Cam or Kuechly locked up long term.

Next year, lets assume Cam's contract will be 20 mill a year and Kuechly's contract will be 15 million a year, that means AFTER we extend BOTH Cam AND Kuechly, we will still have a very solid 35 million left in cap space. I bet you anything if someone told you we would have 35 million in cap space next season, you would be ecstatic. Now imagine if someone told you we will have 35 mill in cap space while having Cam and Kuechky locked up long term.

Now yes I understand we will still have quite a few players we still need to sign but Cam and Keek are the two biggies, after those two are locked up its smooth sailing.

I cant wait to see what Gettleman does next year with all this newfound cap wealth. Are we going to go full retard and sign a Suh? Ofcourse not, but a Torrey Smith type signing will be very realistic next season even AFTER we lock up Cam and Keek. That my friends is reason for optimism.

I been following the NFL closely for about 14 years now, and most enormous contract dont work and barely last 4 years. He is playing it very smart, something we not use to here. Draft well( BPA) and keep your own players at reasonable contracts( ala DA- some players do prefer stability than money.)

That will be with only 27 players under contract, and Cam not signed, so it won't be near $70M. More than this year probably depending how DG decides on keeping our own guys, but not near $70M.

Yeah by the time we resign all of our guys we will be right back down to that 10-15 million dollar range so while we will probably be able to bring in a player or two of a higher caliber that what we've seen recently, we aren't going to be bringing in the upper echelon guys even then.

Thr only other player of ours I see getting a sort of big contract next year is Norman, im guessing Norman might be getting paid 6-8 mill a year maybe
