Deangelo is a steeler now

That's a better rate than Jonathan Stewart.

I am not here to praise Stewart either.  They both had their moments, but they both were paid too much.  At least Stewie was not going to be making millions as a 32-year old RB getting 3.5 yards per carry.

We're going to be missing him by week four when Stewart is on the sidelines with a bruised this or a sprained that. Williams always took the training camp and early season hits while Stewie kept a stationery bicycle from flying up in the air.

I like Stewart, but he's always shown his best work at the end of the season when he's still fresh and and defenses have been beaten up a bit. Without Williams to carry much of the workload (running and blocking), Stewart is going to have a heck of a time making it through a full season. And while I've got a lot of hopes for Fozzy, he isn't as good as Williams by any stretch.

please stop.

Pretty sure Williams had more 1 yard TDs than Stewart in 08...

So....

Deangelo Williams 1-yard TDs 2008 - 5 (4 in Green Bay game, 1 against New York)

Jonathan Stewart -yard TDs 2008 - 1 (Chicago)

Strictly speaking, yes, although that's only because Stewart had most of his TDs in the 2-5 yard range. How about TDs inside the ten yard line?

DeAngelo Williams >10 yard TDs - 7 (1 at Atlanta, 4 vs GB, 2 at New York)

Jonathan Stewart >10 yard TDs - 8 (2 vs. Chicago, 1 at Minnesota, 1 vs. Atlanta, 2 vs. Tampa, 1 vs. Denver, 1 at. NO)

I think that's definitive considering Stewart only had 10 TDs while DeAngelo had 18.

So yeah. The one season we give DeAngelo red zone chances (the vast majority of which come in one game against Green Bay), he did a decent job. But most of his TDs come on long runs.

Point is simply...Williams has one broken 7 TDs once in his career. He ain't doing it now. Not as an old and unspectacular RB who will be the 3rd or 4th best optionin Pitt if he works out
