Do Gettleman's comments on Oher...

Shaq Thompson doesn't fit our schemes from what I'm reading. He has lots of fans but scouts are saying he's a 2 down thumper, not a coverage LB.

Shaq is basically a carbon copy of one Thomas Davis and was the smoothest and most fluid player I watched at the combine. no wasted movement and didn't even break a sweat doing it.

we got crushed by the run game last season and TD will need to be replaced before long. he's an upgrade whether we put him at S or OLB.

I would love the possibility of drafting a top LT and not having to throw him directly in the fire from day 1 unless he truly won the position. Imagine not having another slow start while they all learn and develop chemistry. Imagine having a veteran line who can perform well right off the bat.

So let's say you take a tackle in round one...

Do you sit him behind Oher his rookie year or do you start him on the right?

Assuming he is our left tackle heir apparent you let them battle it out in camp and start whoever is playing better in August.  Obviously if he was drafted in the first round you assume he has the capacity to be the starter but like most rookies might need time to get up to speed.  With a few exceptions even stud left tackles down the road struggle as rookies.  I would let him rotate in and see what he does.  But that is of course a luxury and most times first rounders get thrown in there right away.  Still with the new rookie wage scale at least you haven't mortgaged the franchise on an unknown like it used to be.

It's kind of hard to say, even if both the WR and the OT are valued the same. It will then depend on how Getts feels about the depth of each position. Assuming that is also equal, I would believe the pick would be WR. IMO, receiver is still our biggest need. We have to be able to score. Even when Cam gets the protection he hasn't had a place to go with the ball. Also, with better receivers maybe he gets the ball out quicker. This also depends on the play call of course, but open receivers kind of help. Lol!

Very scary...Jesus when the majority of huddlers are right and the GM/coaches are wrong that's like Armageddon fuging scary...like Jarrett scary...

I really do not think that DG was happy and satisfied going into last year with Bell and Chandler.  Fact was that we had ZERO money to spend on OT and he played the hand that he was dealt.
