Vikings shopping Cordarrelle Patterson

If he has a problem learning Norv Turners offense wouldn't he have a problem learning ours as well?

Derp.

When LaFell left, he said was "shell-shocked" by the Patriots complex offensive system. "It's very complicated here," LaFell acknowledged. "The playbook is so long."

When Greg Jennings went to the Vikings, he said: "My head is spinning." The ninth-year pro, said Turner's scheme is "a lot more complex" than what the team ran last season. "If last year's offense was complicated, guys will struggle with this one, for sure," Jennings said.

Yeah the more I'm thinking about it the more I think Gettleman should send a 4th rounder for this guy. You are getting First round talent with Patterson for a 4th. Second he maybe be struggling to grasp the Vikings offense but what if all he needs to click in this league is to learn our offense and then he catches on. He has all the physical skills in the world to become elite have him grow along with KB. They both can learn the system together along with Prohels coaching. Man I wish we could get him.

Uh pretty sharp. WR route running and reading coverage is one of the hardest things for young pros to learn.

Exactly.

Between hepcat's response on being a WR and the comment of "how hard is it to play ST...just run down the field fast".....I truly do question whether many if the huddle members have ever even watched a game of football.

If I am trading a 5th for a young WR, I would rather have Stills

Exactly what I was thinking. Patterson supposedly has more upside though. But how long can a myth survive not becoming a reality, but gradually morphing into a lie? This third year just may tell the tale.

Of the two talented young WRs, I too would prefer Stills.

Question is whether NO would trade him to a team that they have to face 2X a year, for who knows how long.  If Stills was worth a 5th to everyone else, I'd asume the Aints would force us to trade at least a 4th, if not a 3rd.

Patterson, though more of an unknown, would be more available to us, IMO.

Athleticism is off the charts, but the guy has issues with route running and the playbook (going back to his Tennessee days). That being said, I think a coach like Proehl could unlock his true ability. I would love it if CP came on-board.
