Why Gettleman is a GM... and you aren't.

Again, my football iq is not up for debate. To compare it to Dave's is just plain dumb. He's in competition with 31 other guys, not me. He has to be smarter than them. What you and I think or disagree on is really irrelevant. It took him half a century just to get a GM job. So obviously people weren't bowing down at his genius.

And yet his team has been in the playoffs back to back seasons.

And we had our best rookie class ever.

Plus we're getting out of our salary cap hole.

And we're pretty well positioned for the future.

Oh but wait, he didn't throw all our cap money at a guy you wanted on the second day of free agency with months to go and the draft still upcoming.

You're right. He must not know what he's doing

So we were a good team last year?

We won back to back nfc south titles and are hamstrung by the amount of cap space we have. All in part do to the fact another gm on our beloved team overspent on players that didnt live up to expectations and still have to pay for them even after we let them go.  We can't go out and spend willy nilly just to please a few select fans. Remember we got cam and luke to deal out next year.

Even if we did have cap space it would be ignorant to sign a guy just because he was all pro with another team. You gota account for how he fits our scheme and also that can get you back into cap hell if your not careful. Look at the cowboys, saints, bucs, etc as living proof of that. Signed big name free agents and then have to cut or trade them to get under the cap. Gettlemen is looking at the future of the team. Not just one year.

Save the "we won the division" debate for Bucs, Falcons, and Saints fans. We won the division only because league rules says somebody has to

Except we did, and did so on the strength of a late season run fueled by rookies drafted by what you called our "joke" of a GM.

Jesus Scot.. we made the playoffs based on a rule.. A rule that they are thinking about changing. .

Sometimes the only way to get a point across to people is to go to that length..otherwise they still don't get it

Or you acknowledge that the majority wanted a mid-tier free agent that wouldn't eat up all our cap space. That doesn't fit the argument though.

You'd follow Gettleman off a Cliff and proclaim it to the best logical option.

Uh huh

Face it, dude. We're in a way better spot than we have been in our team history since Gettleman took over.

Whine and bitch to your heart's content if that's what makes you happy, but you're off base.

I don't care about what the "majority" wanted and neither should a gm of any team or any businessman for that matter.

Surely i wouldn't want to fit in with the majority..otherwise i'd be a cowboys fan...

and no thank you.
