Chip Kelly is John Doe

Is it just me, or does the Sam Bradford trade make you think of the car scene with John Doe from Seven?

“You can’t see the whole complete act yet. But when this is done, when it’s finished, people will barely be able to comprehend, but they won’t be able to deny. What I’ve done is going to be puzzled over, and studied, and followed…forever.”

I'm interested to see where this is going. Is it genius, or is it the 2011 "Dream Team"?

2011 dream team all over again. Bradford wasn't even that great even when healthy, Murray is a downgrade from McCoy, Maxwell was insanely overpaid, and he lost early draft picks and doesn't even draft well anyways...

It's going to be interesting. If he's got a five year plan he's trying to implement, the fans of Philly are NOT going to have the patience for that.

I'm wondering if his early success has him thinking he's infallible. This might fall under the "it's so crazy it just might work" category, though. Either way, it's going to be fun to watch.

But with no picks exchanged, isn't Foles better trade bait then Bradford?

Yeah this is definitely a head scratcher. He must be planning on using some powerful Jedi mind tricks to move up...or he's just out of his damn mind. Could go either way.

I was flipping back and forth between sports channels last night, so I can't say which one, or who the analyst was, but they did say something that caught my attention.  Basically, and this is far from verbatim, he's going all in on his belief that he can put anyone in his system and it will work, and all these crazy moves are part of his plan.  Why not?  If he goes all in, and fails, then gets fired... There will be 7-10 of the nations biggest college programs, with a contract waiting for him the next morning.

Edit:  Then the Philly fans will likely riot, because he left their team in a giant poo hole.

    • Ugh, XL being out sucks. Need these guys getting as many reps as possible.
    • So yes we could definitely do better in our receiving group.  And yes, the Panthers are among the last in the league in YAC, but both Coker and Sanders have a lot of YAC. Sanders and Coker are both pretty high up on YAC for their respective positions. So why are we so low? 1) They aren't Bryce's favorite targets - that is XL and Thielen.  To say their YAC is low is an understatement, lol. 2) They've both been a bit injured. 3) Our offense is not really designed around the 'easy' YAC Plays, in part because, IMO, Bryce just can't throw some of those balls, and because we can't seem to get the screen game right.  As to every other team... I mean in terms of league rankings, the Eagles, 49ers, and Vikings are all in the same area of YAC as the Panthers. And compared to the 49ers and Vikings, we also have ~500+ less air yards than they do.  I don't think all of our problems are BY based, but I think if you get him some YAC master, that player will be far less productive with YAC here than they were wherever they came from.
