That's not exactly the best endorsement of his abilities but alright.

As I said, we're signing a holdover and clearly in the market for another rookie WR, this year or next. I'd rather have somebody I can trust guarding the base while that happens. Moore is an experimental player with upside.

If we are going to spend Crabtree money on a WR. I would just prefer he had more speed. If we are going to add talent, at least add speed to the mix.

I like Crab, he does a lot of things well. Just wish he added speed to the roster. We would still need Ginn Jr. or Corey to stretch the D. You want speed in the slot, so that would be out. And he just isn't fast enough to play outside either. So in a way, Crab is more a luxury than a need.

He also tore his Achilles after 2012 during the offseason, so that might have something to do with it. A lot of SF fans say he hasn't been the same since then.

Most times it takes two years to fully recover from Achilles injuries. So if he is going to get back to full strength, this is the year for it. I just wish he had more speed. Unless he comes at close to vet minimum, he is just a pretty good possession receiver. And to me, not worth spending too much money on him.

For a fair price he'd be a good addition. He's always been more of a number #2 receiver than a #1, so pairing him with Benjamin would likely suit him. But for the 49ers to let him walk, and for their fans and people in the media to think he's not been the same post injury, that speaks volumes and perhaps the team should pass on him and look to other options unless it's on a cheaper low risk contract.

Yeah man, you're totally right, Michael Crabtree has never played the X and has never put up big production from there , how could I have not known that. In fact let's just shut this thread down and draft the kid from the U, he runs really fast which is what you need to be successful at the nfl level, especially at the X where the majority of your routes are your 3, 4, 5, and 6 patterns

He is just saying that he does not want Crabtree.  There are other WR's in FA and the draft.

I dont trust Crabtree. He might be just good enough for us because we have KB but to me he doesn't seem like someone to rely on. But with Ginn back it could make an all around good WR core.
