Boykin to Visit per Rapoport

The truth is no one knows what he'll be asked to do.

Some made peace with the Cotchery signing because they thought at best he'd be the number 3 and not the number 2.

Looking at Boykin you'd think there's no way he'll be anything more than a 4/5 guy but this is the same staff that trotted out Bersin (with him being the first look) on the most important 3rd down play of the year.

The people who are complaining do have a valid concern imo and the people who are "it's just March" well better not be the same people blaming Cam when he throws a INT when targeting Boykin on a crucial 3rd down in October.

We need a legit number 2 so we can groom our next rookie and take some of the load of Kelvin. This has been no secret since the day we drafted KB. Voth says we aren't interested in any of the 2nd tier guys and that's what frustrates some of us.

I'll make peace with Dwayne Bowe or Crabtree but please Gettleman, go get us Stevie Johnson!

You mean the second tier guys like Johnson, Nicks, Britt, Moore, Royal and Shorts who TOGETHER put up fewer combined yards than Olsen, KB and Corey last year?

I can't wait to have all these "wide receiver number 2" players on the team!!!!

Argghhh god I can even be assed anymore, some of you poo-posters don't even watch football. You're opinions are about as useful as a dick flavored lollipop.

I'm in the same boat, I'm hoping we draft a #2 and pick up a #3, nobody excites me. Crabtree soft and injury prone, nicks seems like he doesn't give a poo, the others just dont pop out to me, the only one I kind of like is stevie Johnson.

Lol this is like saying we shouldn't try to find another pass rusher because "Charles Johnson and Kawann Short had enough sacks last year!!"

Olsen isn't the one who needs to be replaced. I'm assuming, or at least hoping, you're smart enough to understand that.

That argument falls apart when looked at critically. Nice try though! The insult even made it seem like it was really high brow too!!

Can you point out where I said anyone of those players names in my post?

Bowe, Crab and Stevie are the 2nd tier guys I am talking about, try learning how to read.

And yay for dick jokes!

No, this is like saying we don't need to throw money at Tyson Alualu or Lamarr Woodley because they had as many sacks as Ealy had last year.

The amount of people on here that see a name like Johnson, Britt, Nicks or Moore and have tantrums is hilariously frustrating, and just shows how uneducated some of our fan base still is.

Let me put it to you another way. Nicks, Britt, Moore, Johnson and Shorts had fewer combined yards than Allen Hurns and Mike Evans last year. We do not need any of these average WRs who are going to cost more for the "name" and "potential upside" they carry when this WR draft class is almost as good as last years.

Our safety and CB depth and experience is far more worrying than "Wide receiver number 2".

Substitute Bowe and Crabtree for Nicks and Royal in my original statement and it stays the same. They're all equally irrelevant to the success of our team next year and would cost far more than they would add.

I would be content with waiting for the draft to add another receiver prospect if the extent of our offseason busy work wasn't seemingly limited to resigning our own aging players who weren't exactly conference champs last year anyways. We have other areas that need to be addressed and the first two rounds of the draft aren't quite going to be enough to touch up on it all.

Isn't Gettleman's philosophy to address holes during FA so he can go BPA during the draft? Sign Bowe, Crab or Stevie as insurance incase someone doesn't fall so you're not caught reaching in the draft for a WR.

Probably safe to assume DGB if off our board and Strong may be gone by 25. Agholor, Smith and Perriman may be a reach at 25 and could be gone by our 2nd round pick.

At the very worst one of the 3 guys I mentioned could be serviceable at the #2 spot

Bowe has had many good seasons, I'm not about to write him off because of last year with Alex Smith. Crab doesn't thrill me but he'd be my last resort, Johnson is the one I want
