It is Gettleman! Can we please stop with the nonsense of grabbing a big free agent? He will be turned down by many free agents not willing to take low ball offers in week one. In week two of free agency Gettleman will be used as leverage by players desperate to get more money out of another team. In week three of free agency Gettleman will land some retreads to fill out the roster and create competition for the drafted players in training camp and preseason.

 

Gettleman will give no significant upgrade to the team via free agency, and he will hope the draft picks all pan out to field a mediocre team that may be able to get in the Playoffs, but present no serious threat to the likes of the Packers, Seahawks, or any AFC team capable of making the Super Bowl.

 

The strategy is get to the Playoffs by winning a crap division and hope for the best from the rookies.

There are two parts...I already an home. And I really was at a party at Copper Beach because I stayed in Jones on College Hill my freshman year. Harris was at the dining hall quite a bit and at the party I referenced. I'm 23, graduated 2009. I was there. Point is, Dwayne Harris, one of the best route runners ever at ECU is wig another East team.

I've heard the Patriots are interested in Harvin and he would be the kind of player that they would go after however not a player the Panthers would go after.

I believe Cecil Shorts, Hakeem Nicks, Stevie Johnson and Nate Washington are the biggest names that we will go after for the receiver position. Boykin will probably sign here and be a solid 3-4th WR. I feel that we will have a lot of depth at WR this offseason and maybe we will find a hidden gem like Stephen Hill or Mike Brown. We will more than likely draft a WR which hopefully will be our #2.

Who on that list is a legit #2 who would accept actual #2 money, yet be a 3rd passing option?  In our offense it's going to be KB/Olsen as 1A and 1B, then whoever is going to be a third option.  Does it seem logical given this bunch to tie up $4+ million a year in a guy who might catch 50 balls?  

 

That's why we didn't open up the check book on WRs this year.  We can still find guys later on in FA who can fill in that role.
