Highest Cap Number for a Player No Longer with Club: CB Ken Lucas ($8,330,000; 6.4 percent of cap; fourth-highest on club)

Just found this and I have to say that after seeing what his cap hit still is and the play of the secondary, I'm rethinking the release of Lucas at this point.

jake was 11 for 16 and had 180 yards with no INTs giving him a 91.3 passer rating against the ravens.

so yeah, he should be benched. LOL.

I said if JD isn't careful and plays poorly early on in the season, I would hope he gets benched. I am a JD fan and I hope once all the offensive pieces are in place on the field at the same time that his play will improve as it should.;)

I know but Josh McCown completed two passes...lets start him and then trade Jake to Kansas City for Glen Dorsey! Whoo Hoo!!!

When you put it like that I tend to agree with you, however I think(hope) that Jake will not play poorly and carelessly.

Our cap guys are not the best in the biz. We like to restructure contracts, and all that really does is ease the cap hit for another season or so. You still gotta pay the piper.

I've got to believe that $8million is only a cap number. Lucas had been here long enough that most of his bonuses and garunteed money was probably already paid out. If they did cut him, still owing him money with that cap number on top of that then I really question that move.
