NFL Free Agency Update Thread

3.5-4 million a year for Crabtree is fair. Some of you rather win the cap space olympics rather than paying a fair price for a number 2 WR.

I'd love to know Gettleman's end game here with the WR position. He felt like we lacked speed so adding Ginn may just be good enough in his mind.

I think his endgame is to not spend that money on mediocre receivers, draft some talent and carry the cap over to next year where it can be used to sign some of our real talent.

Crabtree has exceeded 1000 yards receiving in his NFL career ONCE in 5 full season (not counting his injury year).

He's a 700 yd, 5 TD per year receiver.

We can get that out of a high (1st through 3rd) draft pick. Hell, we got almost 600 yards and 5 TDs out of flippin' Ted Ginn two years ago.

We don't have to pay $4M a year for average production. We've already *got* average. And that's all Crabtree gives you... AVERAGE.

But you are so enthralled about the prospect of signing a "name", you'd sacrifice anything for it.

You'd pay Crabtree $4M per year?

And here we see why DG is a GM and the expert amateurs on this site are NOT.

Considering that $4mil per is probably not all guaranteed, yes I would do that contract.

It's only 2-years and the Dolphins can probably get out of it after one year without taking a hit.

It's not a bad deal.

KB and the rest of the rookie WR class from last season has raised your expectation level for a rookie WR.

I'll gladly take 700yards and 5td's from a rookie WR but Crabtree would've been insurance in case one of the rookies capable of that isn't there. Gettleman won't reach and we may not be in a position where WR is close to BPA when we're on the clock.

If we signed Crabtree he'd immediately become our second best WR on our team and considering he's got better hands than KB he may have even been Cam's first look on a lot of crucial downs.

Perriman at 25! Get it done Gettleman!

Perriman's hands are worse than Benjamin's.

He's a hands catcher though, I have hope he can improve but yes, those 2 would make for one hell of a frustrating combo at times. Love Perriman's explosiveness and ability to stretch the field.

Not a fan of Jaelen Strong, I'd like Devin Smith or Agholor but at 25 that may be too big of a reach and they'll be gone by our 2nd pick.

Maybe Tre Mcbride is there in the 3rd for us? Solid route runner, Gettleman will like that

I agree with all of this. Perriman is definitely tempting but I don't know if I can take another guy who makes drops like that. Unfortunately, drops seems to be an issue with several of these guys.

I'm starting to warm up to Ty Montgomery, but just like the others, one of his flaws is drops.
