Former 49ers WR  Stevie Johnson has left his visit with the Patriots without an agreement on a contract.

Chargers are still in play for Johnson.

49ers appear to be moving on from Johnson, even though there was talk that he could return to San Francisco, depending on how things went on the open market.

Saints
If Rita Benson prevail over Saints owner Tom Benson and regains control of the franchise, HC Sean Payton and GM Mickey Loomis‘ days in New Orleans could be numbered.

I haven't been following this. What the hell is going on there? Is she claiming he has dimentia or something? I love turmoil for division rivals but on a human level that sounds awful.

The Raiders have released QB Matt Schaub.

Schaub, 33, signed a two-year, $13.5 million contract that included $8 million guaranteed after the Raiders sent a sixth-round pick to the Texans for him. He was scheduled to make a base salary of $5.5 million for the 2015 season.

Releasing Schaub will free up all $5.5 million in cap space, according to OverTheCap.com.

In 2014, Schaub was active for 11 games, but was limited to playing just 19 snaps. He completed 5 of 10 passes for 57 yards and two interceptions.

Philadelphia Eagles would be willing to trade QB Matt Barkley for a late-round pick.

This comes just a few hours after the news broke that the Eagles brought in The Golden Calf of Bristol for a workout on Monday. *Note Eagles have no plans to sign The Golden Calf of Bristol at this point in time, unless something changes.

Philadelphia has already re-signed Mark Sanchez and acquired Sam Bradford in a trade with the Rams, to there is almost no chance of Barkley seeing meaningful playing time barring injuries to Sanchez and Bradford.

Barkley, 24, still has another two years remaining on his four-year, $2.739 million rookie contract. He’ll make reasonable base salaries of $592,50o and $685,000 over the remaining two years of the agreements.

Last year, Barkely appeared in one game and attempted one pass and ran for three yards.
