Stew could definitely be a June 1st cut next year if he has another injury plagued season so it makes sense. He needs to be healthy all season and play like he did down the stretch last year to even be able to be remotely comfortable about being on the roster in 2016.

NFL Notes: Draft, Giants, Raiders, & Patriots

Sam Bradford Could Be Trade Bait For Eagles To Move Up To No. 2 Overall?

ESPN spoke to coaches at West Virginia’s Pro Day who said that they aren’t convinced that Sam Bradford will end up being the team’s starting quarterback, and don’t see him as a system fit in Philadelphia.

Draft
Indiana RB Tevin Coleman has visits scheduled with the Ravens, Panthers and Cardinals,

Giants
talks between the Giants and free agent S Stevie Brown remain open.

Raiders
Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie reiterated Saturday night that they are not pursuing free agent DE Greg Hardy.

“At this point we don’t have any intentions of doing anything with him,” “His situation is a delicate one. He has something ongoing with the league also. Anything we do (regarding Hardy) is about information gathering, like we do with all the players.”

Patriots
there is a “strong belief” that once the Jets got involved in bidding for CB Darrelle Revis, it was over for the Patriots.

waiting until last moment to lock up S Devin McCourty to a massive extension could have been prevented had they spoke to him during the year. they could have got McCourty under contract for something like $7.5 to $8 million per year, rather than the $9.5 million he signed for last week.
Patriots should consider trading for Saints CB Keenan Lewis, offering a late second-round draft pick.

Patriots coaching staff viewed WR Brandon Gibson as the Dolphins best receiver, which is why they got him under contract early on in free agency.

The Patriots’ interest in veteran receiver Stevie Johnson is “real, ;)

NFL Notes: Bears, Buccaneers, Panthers, Redskins, & Saints

Bears
veteran C Samson Satele is someone to keep an eye on for the Bears.

Buccaneers
Buccaneers will have the No. 1 waiver claim position until after Week 3 of the regular season. At that point in time, the waiver order will be determined by won-loss record.

“It’s a huge deal,” GM Jason Licht said. “Bigger than people realize.”

Panthers
Joe Person takes a look at five potential free agent targets for the Panthers to watch in the coming weeks including: DE Osi Umenyiora, DE Mathias Kiwanuka, CB Charles Tillman, OLB Ashless Palmer, and LB Jacquian Williams.

Redskins
there is “mutual interest” between the Redskins and free agent S Taylor Mays, but they have yet to set up a visit.

Saints
free agent CB Patrick Robinson hasn’t ruled out the possibility of the re-signing with the Saints.
Robinson will meet with the Steelers on Monday.

we're trying to get on the level of the Packers and we're crying about FAs...

every one of the 60 players on the packers have been never played with another NFL team besides Peppers...

maybe Gett is planning for a team like that one day with his drafting...
