NFL Free Agency Update Thread

Miami making big moves this year, going to be a contender

To be honest, both of these moves involve taking advanyage of the Saints 'fire sale' mentality.

The Saints ship them a receiver and in return take a player off their hands whom they were going to cut anyway in addition to the pick.

The receiver given by the Saints allows them to get rid of a headache, and get compensated for it.

This, two players they were going to just cut with no recompense now have actually helped them gain something.

Smart, but also a tad lucky that the Saints are doing their bit right now.

With Christian Ponder signed by the Raiders, the next move

surely will be for QB Matt Schaub to be cut.

#Raiders shouldn't waste much more time now in cutting QB

Matt Schaub . $5.5M saved, $0 dead money. It's Carr and

Ponder in 2015.

REPORT: The #Raiders have signed Christian Ponder , who is

expected to take over Matt Schaub's clipboard holding and

janitorial duties

Christian Ponder is now on the #Raiders making him the fourth

QB on the roster. So again I ask... WHY IS MATT SCHAUB

STILL ON THE TEAM?!?!?!

@RapSheet

WR Kenny Britt is staying with the #Rams, source said. It’s a 2-year deal worth up to almost $14M. He got 4.3M guaranteed. Wow.

Good lord.

So there goes another name tossed around as a "cheap" possibility at a ridiculous price. Everyone here would probably agree that we have no business offering that kind of money for that kind of player.

I wonder if Getts could get a guy like Nicks or Crabtree on a 1 year, $2-3m prove it deal next week.

That's what I have been thinking about, it wouldn't hurt.  I feel that Nicks would be better suited for that.  I doubt we get either one of them though.
