NFL Free Agency Update Thread

Stevie Brown is a guy that interests me a little bit.

I'd consider upgrading at Safety one of our Top 4 needs this offseason. His stock is low because he was coming off an injury last year, but he had some solid years before that, and according to rotoworld and a Giants fan I know, played pretty decent down the back stretch. Not an old player, has a connection to Gettleman. Is somebody I was hoping we'd show an interest in.

What's your thoughts on Taylor Mays from CIN? I know he's a tweener LB/S and that has kinda hurt him by being stuck on the bench at CIN. I liked him coming out of USC a few years ago but then never heard from him again. According to what I could find on CIN message boards the fans like him but then again they usually like the guy that isn't playing. :)

Plus I noticed he's not in that top 50 list up there which could mean he'd be cheap. But he has garnered some interest so who knows?

What I don't like about this years FA is the Cowboys.  They are acting smart all of a sudden and using money in a wiser fashion.  I don't like it!!!

Now they will get Mel Gordon in the first round and with that Oline, make him all world

"On a side note.."

Buccaneers will host Oregon QB Marcus Mariota at the team’s facility in Tampa on Monday.
And will have a private workout with Mariota in April.

This is similar to the visit Florida State QB Jameis Winston took a few weeks, and really isn’t all that surprising consider that teams meet with a number of prospects during the draft process

Mariota had his Pro Day on Friday, and while there were some mixed reviews, it’s doubtful that he’s going to see a dip in his draft stock like Teddy Bridgewater did a year ago.

Mays is an interesting option but I honestly think the fact that other teams are interested scares Gettleman.

Redskins are signing former 49ers CB Chris Culliver to a four-year deal.

Culliver receives a four-year, $32 million contract from the Redskins

Previous reports had said that Culliver was likely to be one of the most sought after cornerbacks in this year’s market, but there had been a limited amount of buzz in recent days.

Culliver figures to be a solid addition for the Redskins, who could really use another cornerback in their secondary.

Culliver, 26, recorded 45 tackles, four interceptions, a forced fumble, a recovery, a defensive touchdown and 15 pass defenses for the 49ers in 2014. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 14 cornerback out of 108 qualifying players.

Man I liked Culliver, thought he was one of the best CBs on the market.

Titans show interest in former first-round RB Trent Richardson once he clears waivers.

The Colts announced Thursday that they placed Richardson and RB Michael Hill on waivers.
The writing was on the wall for Richardson and his time in Indianapolis, especially after the team suspended him two games, which voided the remaining guarantees in his contract.

Richardson, 24, former No. 3 overall pick back in 2012.

Cleveland was smart to get a first-round pick for him after just one year in the league. Although, that pick was used on QB Johnny Manziel, so the jury’s still out on whether they’ll actually recoup any value from that pick.

In 2014, he ran for 519 yards on 159 carries (3.3 YPC) to go along with 27 receptions for 229 yards receiving and three touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 29 running back out of 57 qualifying players.

It's looking more and more the Giants are going to be taking a

safety in the first round since Reece has been so masterful in

FA. #nygiants
