Terrance Knighton signing one-year, $4 million contract with Redskins

Redskins loading up DL

PFF:

"After signing Stephen Paea earlier in the week, Washington has now added the fourth-ranked defensive tackle in pass rush grades (Paea) and the ninth-best in run defense (Knighton) from 2014."

Suddenly we are stacked on the d-line. Paea , Knighton , Jean-

Francois, Baker, and Hatcher.

#Redskins D-line significantly upgraded in the last two weeks

with the signings of Ricky Jean Francois, Stephen Paea and

Terrance Knighton .

We signed Jean-Francois, Paea , and Knighton for less than the

Dolphins signed Suh for.... Just sayin

Despite the rampant rumors leading up to free agency, I gotta

say I never imagined the Redskins would sign Paea and

Knighton . Let alone both

Washington getting Terrance Knighton is a helluva pickup, one

of the best of free agency.

Interesting saga surrounding untendered Saints FA Tyrunn Walker. Saints had the option to keep him for next to nothing, but instead let him go. Apparently, a bit of a bidding war commenced.

@MikeGarafolo

Per @skiernan78 Non-Tendered DL Tyrunn Walker signs $1.75M/1 Yr w/ $750k Bonus w/ @lions Over $200k more than RFA tender of $1.542M. Usually, when a guy doesn't get tendered (in this case, by the Saints), he has to settle for much less. Walker got more from Detroit.

@Rand_Getlin

Non-Tendered DL Tyrunn Walker signs a one-year deal worth $1.75M with the #Lions. Includes a $750K bonus, per @skiernan78. The deal Tyrunn Walker signed is worth over $200K more than the RFA tender of $1.542M. Generated a bunch of interest.

@RapSheet

Per @SKiernan78, non-tendered DL Tyrunn Walker signs for 1-year, $1.75M w/ $750k bonus with #Lions. Played 28% of snaps. Had crazy interest. You’ve probably never heard of new Lions DL Tyrunn Walker. I hadn’t either. The amount of interest by smart personnel people was staggering.

"Smart personnel people" - Rapoport's words - apparently loved the guy. I guess that explains why the Saints didn't.

According to a rumor circulating around on Twitter, the Cowboys are pursuing him (Hardy) in free agency:

Even though Hardy is still on the Commissioner’s exempt list, he is free to sign with a new team, but he would not be allowed to play.

@dpbrugler: Underrated FS Damarious Randall has private workouts set up w/ 7 teams: #Texans, #Seahawks, #Colts, #Cardinals, #Bucs, #Panthers, #Patriots

Would love to get this guy and we could probably get him in the 3-4th round. I heard he can play both safety positions which makes him more useful.

back on the Chargers (who missed playoffs in Week 16 year) signing RT/OG Orlando Franklin:

PFF:

"He makes the line a lot better.. .. a huge improvement over what they had [at OG]. Franklin also has the versatility to play multiple positions. ... In 2013 he was the Broncos’ right tackle and was the fourth-highest graded in that year. In each of the past three years he has graded above a +5.0 in both pass blocking and run blocking."

Chargers blog film study concludes:

"The Chargers not only got a massive upgrade at left guard, they signed their new best offensive lineman."

back on Raiders getting former Nebraska Cornhusker RB Roy Helu:

PFF:

"In 2014 Helu had 477 receiving yards, which was fourth-best for all backs in the NFL, and he did this on only 44 targets... 95.5% of passes thrown Helu’s way were caught. Helu also has performed well after the catch. His 11.7 yards after the catch per catch led all backs with more than 15 targets... His 3.4 yards after contact per carry was among the best for backs. This helped him to an Elusive Rating of 108.6 which was the best for backs with over 50 touches."

I didn't realize Helu ranked so high in those categories. He could possibly have big numbers with the raiders. Any news on how much the contract was for because I was wondering if they overpaid considering all the cash they have.

Helu was one target I would have loved to come to Carolina.
