Wow. RT @NBCdianna New Orleans is trying to trade wide receiver Kenny Still per sources #Saints

Still, 22, has another two years remaining on his four-year, $2.354 million rookie contract that includes very reasonable base salaries of $585,000 and $675,000 over the next two years, so it’s not as though they would pick up a lot of cap room by moving him.

In fact, trading Still would only free up $536,387 in available cap space while creating $97,226 in dead

Chiefs Releasing WR Dwayne Bowe

Kansas City Chiefs are releasing veteran WR Dwayne Bowe today.

previously reported that this was the next move for the Chiefs after they signed Jeremy Maclin to a huge contract.
The Patriots and Ravens have both come up as potential landing spots for Bowe in recent days.

Bowe, 30, had another three years remaining on his five-year, $56 million contract that included $26 million guaranteed. He had base salaries of $10.75 million (2015) and $9.75 million (2016-2017) coming his way over the remainder of the agreement.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Bowe will free up $5 million in cap space for the Chiefs while creating $9 million in dead money. If they were to designate him as a post-June 1 release, those numbers would improve to $11 million cap savings and $3 million in dead money.

In 2014, Bowe appeared in 15 games for the Chiefs and caught 60 passes for 754 yards receiving and no touchdowns.

Saints closing in on a deal with CB Brandon Browner.  "Almost finished,"

Browner would not accept a pay cut to be back in New England, which led to them declining to exercise his option. Browner is now a free agent and appears to have a serious market developing for his services.

Browner, 30, had two years remaining on his three-year, $15.15 million contract, which includes base salaries of $1.9 million in 2015 and 2016, but it all came down to his option and the fact that he would have counted $4.8 million against the team’s cap in 2015.

New England freed up $4.8 million in available cap space by declining Browner’s option.

Last year, Browner appeared in nine games for the Patriots and recorded 25 tackles, one interception and six pass defenses.

    • Yeah, I am not giving up on him yet but I do think we need to see a pretty big step up this season to be convinced he is a long term solution. It is a shame that his development seemed to be stunted in 2023.
    • To put the question simply: Would you be happy with a Steelers trade that doesn't bring back their first-round pick next year? A potential trade between us and Pittsburgh is interesting because depending on which draft value chart you use, Pittsburgh has two totally natural trades available to them, but they're very different. The Jimmy Johnson chart says the difference between us at 8 and them at 21 is 600 points, or almost exactly the value of the last pick in the 1st round. That falls in line with how teams tend to discount future picks. 8 for 21 and next year's Pitt 1st is almost exactly equal. More modern charts (Chase Stuart, Fitz) are much flatter, and 8 for 21 and 83, Pittsburgh's next pick this year, are basically equal.  Now, the second one obviously won't actually happen--the Lions had to include pick 73 just to move from 29 to 24 last year, and Pittsburgh would clearly be making a much bigger jump. But given the flatness of this draft and the lack of blue-chip players at the top, would you accept some mix of 21, 83, and next year's non-first-rounders from Pittsburgh, or would you want Dan Morgan barred from every touching the draft again for accepting anything less than next year's first?
    • just ask XL, to date he is has never been wrong about what we are doing w/ our first pick
