NFL Free Agency Update Thread

Free agent RB DeMarco Murray is flying to Philadelphia to meet with Eagles’ officials on Thursday.

This is the battle Murray needed to start inflating his price. He got it. And he and his agent helped create it. Sometimes, it works.

no news about Justin Forsett yet? that dude had a pro-bowlesque season.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Cowgirls go after him strong if they can't work out a deal with Murray.

Forsett has reiterated several times that he wants to remain with the Ravens, He’s also drawn interest from the Atlanta Falcons, Washington Redskins and Indianapolis Colts. The Ravens are Forsett’s top choice, though. Forsett rushed for a career-high 1,266 yards and eight touchdowns last season as the replacement for Ray Rice.

But while the team is roughly $9.835 million under the NFL salary cap limit of $143.28  This indicates to me  that a major spending spree isn't in the offing ,

The Giants officially announced the signing of RB Shane Vereen on Thursday.

Vereen’s contract will likely end up being a three-year deal worth close to $12 million and includes guarantees of around $5 million.

“(I made this) decision with my family,” Vereen said. “At the end of the day, I wanted to make a decision that was right for us, right for them, and this is a great organization. I was fortunate enough to play in New England with another great organization. This is not a step down; if anything, it is a step up. I am looking forward to the opportunity, and I am enjoying being in New York.”

Vereen, 25, ran for 391 yards on 96 carries (4.1 YPC) to go along with 52 receptions for 447 yards receiving and five total touchdowns for the Patriots.
Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 28 running back out of 57 qualifying players.

Bears Signing WR Eddie Royal

Royal is familiar with Bears QB Jay Cutler and some of their coaching staff.

Royal, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Broncos. He signed a three-year contract with the Chargers back in March of 2012.

PFT reporting there is the possibility that Max Unger might not pass his physical in New Orleans.

If that happens and the Graham trade is voided, this offseason could get even more entertaining than it already has been

    • Fair enough. I never once said not supporting Tepper makes you a bad fan by the way. I can't stand the guy myself. You on the other hand don't like anything about the team. You can't stand the owner or the coach because his religion doesn't fall in line with how you feel it should so I'm curious why you are even a fan at this point? Hell, you like nothing about the team, why even be a fan these days?  We can go backs and forth about how many games we have been to and measure dicks if you want or but it doesn't matter. I've been to my fair share over the years. Some as a fan and some work related but I bet you have been to more due to my weekends being filled with some work I do at the collegiate level so I probably only average maybe 2-3 games per year tops. You have me beat there im sure. You are probably very correct on us not being the same in anything at all I am quite sure of that. If I'm a "mark" (as you put it) for not liking Tepper and not caring about Canales religion or his political beliefs or letting it have weight on whether or not I like the team then call me a "mark" but you're still a whiny bitch either way.  When you hate everything about leadership from their personalities to their religious beliefs all the way to who they vote for at that point why even be a fan? I can side with you judging by your beliefs that you have made apparent, if you owned and coached the team, I sure as hell would find a new one to support but as you said we are different. Enjoy Norway, it is a beautiful country. Visited last year myself and absolutely loved it.
    • The playing well part, depends on what happens going forward. It could have been a tease that will dig our hole deeper.  In the small picture of one game, probably his best game. Green Bay wasn't as great as people think it was. More like one good quarter. Followed by two games of exactly nothing.
    • Oh, it was handled horrifically.  Ego got in the way of a plan.  I'm just saying, that he actually probably stumbled into the better outcome/plan.
