NFL Free Agency Update Thread

Lol, we beat a team that was playing like their 4th string QB and we still struggled with them.  And the very next week we got embarrassed by the Seahawks. Nice try, though.

So we were the least deserving, and yet we got farther than three other teams, including the one we beat.

Fun, huh?

We won 7 games. SEVEN GAMES. You do realize that 7 is a losing season in the NFL correct? Staying put right now is the wrong choice especially in a FA class that is full or WAS full of WRs that fit that number 2 role. I bet you we end up with another Cotchery type of signing and wonder why Cam keeps getting coverage sacks next year. Cam gets sacked a lot because nobody is open. I see fans jump on the O-Line which was below average but a lot of times nobody was getting open. If you want to be a winner you do have to fill holes or at least attempt to. Look at what Seattle did giving Russell Graham. Indy is about to get Andre Johnson and got Gore as well. You have to get your QB weapons to improve the offense on this team. Our only weakness on offense last year was our number 19 overall passing game.

Go back and look at which teams were most active throwing around money on the first day of free agency last year (and the year before that, and the year before that, and etc. etc.) and then see how many of those teams made the postseason.

Once you're done with that, feel free to continue panicking less than two hours into a six month period

A whole dollar? I think you need that truth so take it. I can not hold that truth in much more it is about to burst lol.

Not sure if you've taken the time to look at the deals these WR's have been getting today(probably not), but your "truth" would destroy the team bruh...  maybe you should take a peek at our cap.

Maybe next year though.

I am not talking about being big spenders but you have to spend money when you have it in sports. Even the teams that build through the draft will add players in FA. You act as if anyone who is questioning why we are letting good WRs walk away is wanting us to spend until the needle is on empty. See in my case you can get a solid number two receiver for 5 to 7 million a year which is not crazy money by no means.

Seems like some pot stirring going on here. I think we can all agree that we need impact players on offense. Standing pat and hoping things pan out in the draft, which is in many way a crap shoot, is of course risky. We have limited funds of course, but we need an impact WR. A guy who can perform consistently even against defenses like Seattle. A rookie WR is going to go through growing pains and have ups and downs, or might not pan out at all. I'm hoping we make a major move for a proven WR, but my concern is that we'll wait around for cheap scrubs who won't accomplish much, and won't matter against Seattle, or other top defenses in the playoffs. See Cotchery. It's time to make a move, and then we can draft for the future.

I'm pretty sure free agency doesn't end today.

I'll look it up to be certain, but I'm pretty sure.

And far as I know, we actually do get to take part in the draft this year.

My truth is 5 to 7 million a year. We have not been mentioned in the same breathe as any WRs. Tedd Ginn was signed to return kicks/punts but not to be the number two receiver. You can not sign another Cotchery level player and then say you are helping Cam or getting him better weapons because most fans will laugh that off.

Torrey Smith just got 8. So who, that has walked already, are you talking about?

Nope but by the time we get into FA everyone of a talent level we needed will be gone just like last year. At least last year we had the ability to say it was the cap room. Well this year we have some cap room to work with and could get more if some players restructure.

It's clear you're delusional.  I'm done wasting my time with you.  Have a great day.

We have been mentioned in the same breath, but the ones we had targeted got paid way more than we could afford.

Besides that, I don't even think there's been a 5-7 million/year WR signed yet...
