Saints deal TE Jimmy Graham to Seahawks

Graham won't have the same impact in Seattle. I really like Wilson but he's no Drew/Sean. Plus I think he's got a glass jaw. After TD put him on the ground he didn't do squat against us. Yes he was injured...

Wilson is better than Drew Brees. If anything, Graham is going to have much more of an impact with the Hawks when Wilson starts scrambling around making plays. That leaves the middle of the field wide open for who? You guessed it, Jimmy Graham.

Unger is a shell of his former self. Injuries have really taken a toll on him. That's not to say they don't need a center, because the interior line is the biggest weakness by far, but the Saints aren't getting the Max Unger that was a Pro Bowl caliber player.

The 1st round pick is a wash.. since that's essentially Jimmy Graham now. Besides their track record in Round 1 is borderline crappy, while the mid rounds is where they unearth gems.

unger was a pro-bowl caliber anchor blocking next to a DT turned OG (Sweezy,) who has been heavily suspect and penalty magnet. there has to be quite a bit of drop off there in the running game.

Carolina's 4-3 is Taylor-made to defend Seattle and asides from the playoff game, the Hawks have needed a couple fumbles and last minute mistakes to beat the Panthers.

The Panthers know the Hawks better than any other team outside of the NFCW and are improving at the one place the Hawks are declining...that's in the trenches. see us in the NFCC.

With a full, healthy DL I saw Wilson scrambling alright...for his d@mn life. Jam and bracket softy Jimmy and night night nurse with a full, healthy D of ours.

You talking about the same D who Wilson crushed for 268 yards, 3 TD's, and a 149.2 rating? Now he has an elite TE to throw to? And Unger was out for most of the season last year, Wilson was still killing defenses with him out. You seem to be in denial.

I was talking about the 2013 game when we were both 100% and even last October when they had nothing going until (what else?) a long return allowed and 57 yard FG. In 2013 the bomb to Kearse over Josh Thomas and absolute prayer to Baldwin greatly distort the pounding we can do with a full deck on him.

One thing to consider is how they are going to use Graham. Even though he's technically a TE, he played WR 2/3 of his snaps. The common thing I've heard on the radio out here in Seahawks land all day was concern about him taking plays off, his lack of blocking, and how he is going to be used in the offense.

Graham is one of my favourite players and I'm much more interested in watching SEA games now. But Graham wasn't very good last year. I don't see how he's going to get better going to a worse offense next season. Then he'll be 30 in 2016.

He wasn't great last year, BUT, I personally believe part of his down year was his displeasure over the handling of the Franchise tag/contract.  I don't think he'll put up the numbers he did in Nola because the offense won't be structured to maximize his potential, but he'll still be very good.

    • Easily. To be able to plug in a backup LT without much drop off from your starter? That could mean the difference between playoffs or sitting at home in January. Good/serviceable smart young and healthy LTs that won’t lose you a ball game at reasonable $$ don’t just come along every day. Picture next year… the team is scrappy and competitive, 4 and 3 record, second place in the South. Morale is good. devastating run game that Let’s our marginal defense get plenty of rest. We play the Bucs and win, going to 5 and 3, but we lose Ickey to a high ankle sprain. Atl loses that week and are now at 5 and 3 as well. There is no Ickey and no BC because we let him go… and we go in to Atl the next week for a battle of first in the south. Week after that is the Jets…. Now they lose both by 10 and 3, respectively, and fall to 5 and 5 going in to their bye week. Atl is at 7 and 3. Out of typical Panthers desperation, they try to rush Ickey back in to the lineup with a saints game coming up…  Back to good old Panthers football, always playing catchup. Another season at .500 and the fans sadly rejoice in mediocrity, when playoffs were in reach. This team always overestimates its ability to pick up quality o line depth in the draft or FA and it always blows up in their faces. Like Chuba, I see him as being part of the core that Dan is trying to build. Work on his contract now and see if we can come out with something mutually beneficial. I’d consider 3 yrs at $25m to be very fair.
    • it would be great to have "double trouble" again, I even had a T- shirt for Williams and Stewart and the double trouble logo, was a great time to be Panthers fan. We shall see...
    • Sounds like a plan. Those are the teams we should be mimicking! lol
