Nobody thinks Kony could be ready to start?

I, personally, think Kony was on the verge near the end of the season.  After an off season of work, he may be a totally different man going in to training camp.  He could be ready to start.

Why does that even matter? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Because they are better players and when better players play more snaps (assuming their conditioning is well and good) better things happen. Star and Kawann are first and second round picks that I want to see on the field as much as possible. A rotation is always nice and it will continue to happen, I'm just saying I'd prefer if Star and Short see more time on the field together and more snaps individually.

Kony played well at the end of the season but I'm not sure if he is ready for starter minutes. It takes DE time to develop at least 3 full seasons. I think he will be productive next season, but I don't think he is ready to be the full time starter yet. I like we are bringing our own free agents back but we need another DE to pair with CJ since Hardy is gone.

And somewhere Big Frank is contemplating smoking a blunt.

Some of you just overlook him like he ain't even here.

Not overlooking but the factor that remains is he wasn't there for us last season. If you ask me he is probably on real thin ice and you don't want to count on that.

Team article is up (link)

"Dwan has been very productive as a part of the defensive tackle rotation with Star Lotulelei, Kawann Short and Colin Cole," head coach Ron Rivera said.  "I really appreciate the senior leadership he brings to the defensive line room and I'm excited to have him back on our team."

Said Edwards: "We've got a great chemistry on the defensive line, and despite some of the challenges that faced us last year, we continued to battle and young guys stepped up, and (defensive line coach Eric) Washington did a great job. It was a great group to be a part of. From where we started to where we are now, I wanted to be a part of this."
