This dude had Anquan Boldin, Michael Crabtree, and Stevie Johnson last season... all of those could be argued to be low end #1's to high end #2's.  Hell, they even had Brandon Lloyd as well, who isn't bad himself.

 

Not to mention Vernon Davis who was widely viewed as a top 5 TE.

 

Yet they still bitch about weapons for Kaepernick.  Outside of QB, they were arguably the most offensively stacked team in the entire league going into the season.

upgrade from Stevie Johnson and CJ Spiller to Sammy

If you look at them and their careers theyre mostly the same so I dont know that it really matters ultimately. Theyre pretty similar.

Crabtree is just a little more dynamic I think and is a little bit younger.

He was pretty damn quick getting his picks in for Star, KK,KB, and Ealy.

 

When we jacked Tavarres King from the Broncos through that waiver loophole, he did that poo damn near instantly too.

 

It seems when there's something he sees that he actually wants, he's pretty quick to act.  Not saying that's the case here though, just speculating.  For a "busy day" it hasn't been very busy.

I will be ecstatic if we could get any of Crabtree, Johnson, Andre, Britt, Moore, or Nicks. All of these guys have #2 potential or ability and none seem out of our price range.
