Because billions.

And restaurant and hotel tax.

i don't quite understand what you mean but thanks for your response.if you can elaborate that would be appreciated

HERES A SALARY COMPARISION

A.2014 highest paid player in the NFL Aaron Rodgers salary was 22million

B.2014 Rodger Goodells tax free salary 44.2 million.no wonder former Secretary of State C.Rice or anyone for that matter would like to become the NFL commissioner.

AND MY UNDERSTANDING of the NFL DISTRIBUTION of GROSS INCOME

any surplus of money is redistributed among the teams instead of paying taxes after the NFLs central office has paid salaries, travel expenses, consulting, legal fees, etc.however, teams are excluded from this tax exempt status.

why wouldn't ANY league operate using the NFL non-profit model (501c6)?it just seems like a no brainer for those involved but an injustice to our taxpayers

Roger Goodell will pay income taxes like any CEO.

The only part of the NFL exmept from paying taxes is the NFL league office. The teams in individual states, NFL ventures and NFL properties all pay taxes.

Technically the league office is just there to make rules etc, the money making arms listed above do get taxed.

Also, all the money the NFL makes, it pays them to the clubs as profit, which is taxed. So it will be "double taxing" if that money is taxed before being taxed again when the teams receive their share.

The only true contention will be the "dues" that NFL teams pay for the running of the league office (which people tend to interpret as the league making money). It collected roughly around 300million as dues to pay for the business expenses of the league office. I hear after paying executives etc, the revenue generated from taxing this dues will be around 10million.
