Taking less money

Mr. Scot

I think I would take less to win, but that's way easy to say when you don't have millions potentially waiting for you. When get a lot of money, you want a lot more.. Drake said it best "people (didn't say people...) with no money act like money isn't everything"

But his next contract isn't guaranteed.

Anything can happen.

Honestly, in this day and age neither is this new one. But I do believe staying with Rogers gives him a better shot at seeing most of that money in the contract, ie hitting escalators, bonuses or whathaveyou.

Don't want to sign big and then get cut the following year like might happen to Bowe.

When you are taxed at their rate the difference between 10 million a year and 12 million is roughly 1 million after taxes.  So the question is when you are making more money than you can spend in a lifetime are there other considerations besides money when that is already a given and the difference is not that much.  The answer is obviously there would be reasons to stay in Green Bay.  Now if Oakland were offering 3 million and the Packers were offering 1 million I suspect he would have left.  IN that case the 2 million extra triples your salary where in Cobb's case it was not that huge relatively speaking.
