Our wide receiver corp

Our WR corp is GARBAGE

We have no number 2 and never have for a long time. How this franchise continuously ignores that position regardless of who is in charge is beyond me.

So, FA and draft has been wrapped up already?  Who'd we get?  I must have missed it.

The question I have is do we really need to make any splashes for this position?  In my opinion we have a solid group presently.  The trait that was obviously missing last year was speed.  This has been addressed with the addition of Ted.

Bersin: was solid for us minus the KR/PR.  That issue is no longer an issue.

KB: going into his second year.  He was not happy with his performance and the drops I expect him to be greatly improved next season.

Cotch:  There is quite a bit of hate but this guy is a solid 3rd down receiver.

Olson:  Nothing needs to be said

The practice squad guys such as Stephen Hill, Mike Brown might be something the Panthers look at but I do not see a glaring need at this point to go out and drop 6-8 million dollars on a wide receiver when it could and should be spent on the o-line.

This guy is not amused.

We are so early in the offseason and we are already trying to project our wide receiving corp. We will probably have 10-15 more recievers come through before the final roster is set. I am pretty sure at least one of the will be a pretty darn good draft pick and maybe another one. We will be a lot better than last year. Ginn will more than likely be used strictly as return man and emergency WR. Bersin will be 5-6 on the depth chart if he makes the team. Things will look a lot better once everything shakes out. I wish people wouldn't freak out right at the start of free agency

OT 1st WR 2nd or WR 1st OT 2nd...doesn't matter to me. We need help at both positions badly.

Not saying this is the case, but I hope we're not satisfied with just the addition of Ginn. He's a good PR/KR, and provides speed to the position to open things up a bit, but he's a scrub at the WR position.

Jaelen Strong Please!   Don't think there will be a OT in our range that would do any better than a healthy Oher this season.

Strong is straight Nasty and at the very least would be #1b to KB.  Everyone talks about KB with some drops late.  Strong had Zero drops at his pro day

As of right now it is. People are acting like Ginn is the solution to our WR problem. Same thing every year, we sign some scrubs (Cotchery, Avant last year) and people think that's giving Cam weapons.

Same people will start threads during the season blaming Cam because our offense blows.

I've wanted a #2 WR since the beginning of time, forgive me if I have my doubts about them actually ever accomplishing that. I'm not saying go get Cobb, Smith or Maclin (I didn't want any of those guys) but if AJ gets released, DG better give it an honest effort to get him signed.

You are The Undisputed King of The Land of Strawmen.

Can you point out all these people proclaiming that Ted Ginn is the "solution" to our WR "problem"?

I've mentioned before how Strong is a hard prospect to figure out and I'm not the biggest fan, but I can definitely see him being BPA when we're on the clock come April. He had a great combine but like OPFIN said in another thread last night the athlete that showed up at the combine didn't always look like the same athlete during the season. I really like some of the 2nd tier WR in this class like Perriman, Devin Smith and Nelson Agholor
