Panthers Transaction List (Updates)

I'm going with the rumor bc even that David Newton guy is biting. You never know but I'd expect people to temper their expectations.

Thing is, we still have a lot of cap space. Maybe it's for a Morgan deal...or something in the secondary. Outside of McCourty and Maxwell, it's been quiet on that front league wide. Searcy, Rahim Moore, there's a lot of good talent available.

I would say we would be looking at a SS as well. No top guy though.

Well there's nothing left to do in house right? Except maybe Dwan. So anything else from the Panthers will have to be tomorrow afternoon at the earliest right? Unless of course we get someone who has been released already. So I'm not expecting any new news until tomorrow (and maybe not then). But the whole thing is pretty exciting in an offseason kind of way.

I agree.  Moore is probably not feasible but you never know.

Potential at SS--Da'Norris Searcy, Quinton Carter, Jeromy Miles, Mike Adams, Marcus Gilchrist

CB--Davon House, Chris Culliver, Brice McCain, Bradley Fletcher, (there's a lot)

I'm not so sure. The coaches and players really seem to like Roman Harper. We fans can see the plays he misses, but we can't tell all of the right he does by getting our young guys in position and being a vocal leader.

Harper may be our stop gap for one more year.

I agree..they seem to have faith in the old chap but I'm thinking Harper at this stage is going to be doing around 45-60% of def-snaps.  That's why either someone in the draft or FA would be good to add with him, Boston, and Jones.

And a quick take, our receiving corps at the moment:

Benjamin

Cotchery

Brown

+Ginn

+Bersin

Presley

That's not a finished product by any means but I'd be surprised if we went after another UFA WR outside of camp competition.

Yep

Bersin is a good WR. What is the harm in signing him to a cheap one year deal? He will likely compete for a last on the depth chart WR spot. No big deal. The man has very sure hands and is a good possession receiver. No need to hate on  him because he was thrown in to return kicks last year because we had no other options. I can promise you he will never be asked to return kicks again. Just catch passes. And he can do that really well.

Really I don't think Harper looked half bad the last part of the year. He played much better when we had our young rookies in there.

Bersin is going to get more chances than any other player in franchise history.

why wouldn't bersin come back?

As a receiver he has proven to be a good route runner with clutch hands, making several 3rd down grabs.

But lets hate on him cause he's a local boy who wasn't amazing at kick returns?

Whatever dude.
