Who do you have cable with? I have home phone, internet, and 1500 channels (including all HBO, Cinemax, Starz, Showtime, and The Movie Channel) for 170 a month.

Time Warner Charlotte.

The thing is you can only watch ao much in a week/month.

You are consistently watching maybe 25 channels. Why?

Mainly because once you get to a certain point, it's cheaper to get the "everything package". And some of the channels I watch aren't in the Standard 70.

When my mom moved, she got cable in her name for the "Introductary Price". The guy was punching numbers, and told her it would be cheaper if she got a second DVR. Dropped the price 10 bucks. Sometimes more is cheaper.

I paid $100 a month for a bunch of channels I don't care about with AT&T uverse. I certainly don't free like I got my money's worth each month.

Each month I pay $20 for Sling, $7 for Netflix, and $5 for an occasional movie from amazon. Plus I get about 25 free crystal clear HD channels over the air for FREE.

*I also pay $100 a year (or $8.30 a month for Amazon Prime which gives me access 100,000's of movies and shows, but I really pay for Prime to get free shipping).

So in conclusion;

Cable costs $100 a month or $1200 a year.

Cable cutting costs $40.30 a month or $483.60 a year

I save $59.70 a month or $716.40 a year for all the TV shows, movies, sports that I can watch.

Did you increase your internet speed due to your reliance on streaming? I did with mine, and now my internet bill is about $75 a month by itself. TWC didn't mind sticking it to me since I was cutting cable.

To answer your question, yes I did.

I upgraded from Uverse (11 Mbps) to Comcast (60 mbps). I pay 49.95 for Internet now, which is virtually he same price I was paying for UVerse. It will probably jump to $69 next year, which is ok for me seeing how I expense my internet through my company.

Unfortunately this is true.

Imagine if they had a tier a la carte package deal:

3 channels

6 channels

12 channels

All I need is HBO, AMC, Nat Geo, Palladia, Food, and Travel

Palladia is a very underrated channel. Love it. But two years away from catfish marathons.
