Hawks sign Lynch

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

yes beast mode has been healthy and arguably the most dominate running back the past 4+ years but you take the risk of him declining due to age. The Seahawks have 2 decent running backs and the draft is deep with running backs so they had a option to go young at that position and decided not to.

When you start going to super bowls it's hard to stay under the cap and players tend to get over paid.

...to a three year deal for 31 million dollars (link)

Lynch is arguably the best RB in the league, but would you pay that much for a runningback these days?

In general?  No.  But that entire offense runs through Lynch.  They needed to do this and it was a good move.

lol god they're gonna be in cap hell for a long long time. Still have to lock up Wilson and Wagner. This with Sherman and Thomas's contracts. hahaha oh lord I'm gonna love it when they can't afford poo and have to go through what we did.

Uh except they went to two Super Bowls and won one while we struggled to win .500 of our games.

I don't understand why all you huddlers laugh at cap hell teams like the Hawks and saints as if the Panthers can relate...they both have a ring to show for it.

I'd kill to be in cap hell for 5+ years for a ring, these organizations went into cap hell the right way, winning it all where as the Panthers' FO are just dumbasses, it isn't the same.

this will be his final season I'm sure...so the long term effect doesn't bother me at all.

as for the front office knowing Wilson can't win on his own....I sure the hell hope that's the case...show me any football team that has won with just a single player.

want some toast with that jelly?

No way I would've given him 31 million for 3 years. Given his attitude and he's already talked about retiring. I realize the guarantee is small in comparison to the whole deal. The dude is a monster, just better hope he don't go Chris Johnson and forget how to run the ball.

The Hawk fan sees clearly.

Lynch gets $12 million this year, in the form $7.5 million signing bonus and a $4.5 million fully-guaranteed base salary.

12 mill is guaranteed. He'll play this one year, then redo the contract or walk. His cap hit will prolly be about 7 million this year. A bargain for the League's best RB. Next year they'll eat the remainder of the bonus over a couple years or restructure.

Good signing, if you think the Hawks are gonna pay Lynch 31 million over 3 years you're seriously delusional.
