Hawks sign Lynch

Too much. How much guaranteed? If they can cut him after this year then smart move

From the link...

Lynch gets $12 million this year, in the form $7.5 million signing bonus and a $4.5 million fully-guaranteed base salary.

In 2016, Lynch (if he plays) will get a base salary of $9 million.  In 2017 (if he plays), it’s a base salary of $7 million in 2017 along with a $3 million roster bonus due on the fifth day of the 2017 league year.

If Lynch retires after 2015, he’d be responsible in theory for paying back $5 million of the signing bonus.  But the Seahawks wouldn’t be required to pursue the money.  If they know going in that he may walk after 2015 (and that probably was one of the subjects discussed at Friday’s sit-down regarding the contract), it would be a surprise if they seek repayment of the money.

I suspect people are already theorizing that this is an 'apology' for the Super Bowl gaffe.

(no idea if there's any truth to that)

...to a three year deal for 31 million dollars (link)

Lynch is arguably the best RB in the league, but would you pay that much for a runningback these days?

It's too much but he's a beast and overpaying a little to keep him is understandable.  The unknown is him being the wrong side of 30 for 2 of those 3 years.  He has a lot of miles on his tread already.

I truly believe if we have Kraken and Star we beat them in January.  We've been within a gnats hiney of beating them for over 3 years with a roster and circumstances far short of the masterpiece GMan is sculpting.  I can't wait to break the door down with a vengeance.  Bring on an aging beast mode.

lol god they're gonna be in cap hell for a long long time. Still have to lock up Wilson and Wagner. This with Sherman and Thomas's contracts. hahaha oh lord I'm gonna love it when they can't afford poo and have to go through what we did.

Didn't they already extend Thomas and sherman last summer for four more years?

I think it's worth it for them. He's the main reason they have had a chance at a ring the past two years. They wouldn't have that shot going forward without him IMO.

    • Yeah don't get me started on that. He ran cam into the ground
    • I once again wake up eat my breakfast and then read bs…man your logic only works in your head I can give you multiple examples but I’ll start with one easy clear example of it matters who you’re getting and what you’re planning on doing. Jadevon C and Khalil Mack were drafted before Aaron Donald 2014 biggest mistake of the draft as we look back and redraft or whatever. It doesn’t make sense to take a DE over a DT thats a stud game changing elite defensive player. You can’t draft of generalization typically you want a DE first but nowadays DT are just as impactful so you better choose right LA got a chip bc of Donald meanwhile K Mack is on his second team and J Clowney on his third  team. We don’t draft positions we draft elite prospects Graham seems to be a more productive disruptive player than either DE we may get. A Carter who I want is a Micah P clone they say I can see him impacting the pass game but the run game might leave him as a non factor. And right now our main focal point on defense this offseason will be stopping the run. We’ll be able to create pressure with A Barno back Wonnum healthy and a mix of blitzing which has helped us generate pass rush lately.  Graham if he allows us to stop the run and he generates a pass rush himself which at Michigan he’s know to do both consistently helps our defense then start controlling games would be a better pick then Carter for us moving forward so let’s dive deeper then just pick a DE over a DT because there’s so many factors to weigh out with these top ten picks in the nfl draft.
