Percy Harvin

I actually have a feeling, and I am not the only one have heard from some inside folks, that Gettleman is going to shock us somehow this offseason with a free agent.

I am hoping its Torrey Smith.

Smith, Benjamin, Olsen ... thats a legit passing attack. (assuming we have a NFL caliber left tackle)

You let Hardy walk and sign Harvin. Yea I call no way in hell on that.

NBC Pro Football Talk

"If the Jets and Harvin can’t reach a deal, watch these three teams closely: the Chargers, Packers, and Patriots. With any of those, Harvin could do a one-year deal, partner with one of the best quarterbacks in the game, have a huge year, chase a championship, and set himself up for a bigger contract in 2016."

Smith would be a good consolation if the money makes sense, but there's no doubt Harvin or Maclin would be the best fits for our offense lining up opposite of KB. I would be doing backflips if we got either one...Maclin especially is a complete receiver in every aspect and also brings that speed we are missing. Harvin would just add a speed dynamic that would be extremely threatening to defenses in our offense.

Of course money talks, and Maclin wants and should get paid like a big play WR because he is one. He signed a one year prove it deal last year coming off the injury, and he proved it..

I'm all for Percy harvin.. His contribution in the Super Bowl was outstanding and overlooked. His first game back and had a HUGE impact on the game. I can just imagine us running an end-around with harvin instead of philly (not hating, but harvin is way more explosive), And his return game. A bunch of you acting like you don't want him... If we signed harvin I'm pretty sure 99% of you guys would be stoked.

Minnesota. Seattle. NY Jets.

All 3 needed upgrades at WR, yet all 3 gave up on Harvin. In a league that doesn't have enough playmakers.

Gettleman is wise enough to learn from other people's mistakes, not just his own.

Minnesota got a good offer from Seattle which is why they traded him. Before he got injured that year he was an MVP candidate his play was that good. In his first season with Seattle he was still injured but came back and showed off in the Super Bowl. Jets are moving away because his contract is huge.

Gave up is hardly the right word.

Seattle traded away a guy they gave up a 1st and 3rd round pick for and signed to a big contract after just one year for a throw away pick. If that's not giving up on him I don't know what is. Also 62 catches for 677 yards and 3 tds is hardly MVP numbers in nine games.

Not buying what you're selling.

Harvin's rookie and 2nd year w/ Vikings were plagued by migraines, often at times convenient for Harvin to miss practices, team functions or flights, even his rookie symposium in 2009. After his headaches became a headache. Minnesota was glad to get rid of him.

Seattle gives up 3 picks for him and a new 6 year $67 million deal, after which Harvin tears a hip labrum and is out for most of the season. His sole big play in 2013 was returning the second half kickoff for a TD in the Superb Owl.

In October 2014 Seattle sends him packing to the Jets fro a conditional draft pick. Harvin allegedly had locker room fights with his Seattle teammates and also allegedly sat himself down in some 2014 games, refusing to go back on the field.

Feel free to check Wikipedia on this info.

Now the Jets are trading for Brandon Marshall, another WR with a big contract and plan to release Harvin 1 year after trading for him and taking on that huge contract.

If it looks like a turd, smells like a turd, and acts like a turd, Harvin just might be is a turd.

If you are such a head case that you get dropped in favor of Brandon Marshall...well that's pretty telling.

I'm not sure they are all that comparable.

I can't see a new guy coming in and being a problem in the Panthers locker room. The current squad would squash it immediately. With Steve Smith he was entrenched in the team so much it couldn't be controlled.

So are you saying that you have heard Gettleman might be signing someone with possible locker room issues? or that Gettleman may be signing someone that the fans feel is out of the panthers salary range? because I don't see Gettleman breaking the bank for a big name.. it just doesn't fit his style.
