I actually have a feeling, and I am not the only one have heard from some inside folks, that Gettleman is going to shock us somehow this offseason with a free agent. 

 

I am hoping its Torrey Smith.

No shockers at oline in fa, would have to be a speedy player if WR. Contract Would need to have considerable amount of money and a large signing bonus to be shockint. Team also Needs a PR = Cobb for major money.

I can't see a new guy coming in and being a problem in the Panthers locker room. The current squad would squash it immediately. With Steve Smith he was entrenched in the team so much it couldn't be controlled.

If it were my choice, of those two, I'd go Smith.  Harvin is a dynamic player, but he's been hurt quite a bit, plus it seems there's locker room issues everywhere he goes.  Also, Harvin isn't really the type of receiver we "need" at this point.  Smith seems to fit our needs better.

Could the shocker be that Getts tosses a little more coin out there at someone like Bulaga?  The Panthers need to strengthen their OL whether and can't choose now of LT or RT since the market lacks any studs, outside of Bulaga.  

 

He can play LT though, so it wouldn't be that far fetched for Bulaga to get slotted there, though he is a great RT.  Either way, his presence makes our OL more powerful.

Dude, I'm having that feeling too.  Not saying it's Smith but I can see us making one or two very modest deals to young and proven FAs.  Something in the agua.

Is it weird that in the pretend fantasy land where I dream we sign Cobb...........that I only use him as a WR........and not a return man?   Paying a dude $8M-$10M a year.........it seems too risky to put him out there on return duty.
