Panthers had contract talks with Ed Dickson

I was thinking the same thing. everytime ive seen him on the field he has done well.........but I rarely saw him on the field!

Speaking of threats (possibly an empty one),I wonder what this means for Brandon Williams.  Are we ever going to see the next rendition of Julius Thomas on the damned field?  I am tired of them teasing us.  The kid has had time enough to learn how to be an average blocker and get some serious action.

Don't see him in the crystal ball. See Rotoworld:

Free agent TE Lance Kendricks is seeking $4 million annually.

A blocking and red-zone specialist, Kendricks had a 27/259/5 line as the No. 2 tight end behind Jared Cook last year. The Rams are fully expected to let him test the open market. Kendricks will be one of free agency's bigger overpays if teams are willing to meet his asking price. Feb 21 - 5:04 PM

I'd take those numbers from a number 2 TE for a good price. That seems like valuable production from a blocking specialist. Can't say I remember ever seeing him play so I have personal opinion but that wouldn't matter anyways.

Shula finally recognize he had another TE near the end of the season. . Not Dickson fault he only got 17 targets all year.. I say give him a cheap deal and bring him back..

Thanks Obama...I mean Shula.

Shula blame is betting a tad much. He pretty much gets blamed for all. Dickson is a JAG. That ain't Shula fault

You're willing to spend $4 million per year on a back-up TE?

Swole Bones almost had a TD in a regular season game this year. I say give him a shot and let Dickson walk. I like Dickson but I just don't really wanna have him eating up more cap space and he can't block. Swole looked like a better blocker to me.

17 targets all season. . Finally becoming a part of the offense near the end of the season. . A pattern that Shula has followed since he's been here..
