Are the Panthers on the verge of Greatness?

Everyone knows what we are..

We had the best tandem of running backs in the league last year and a stud OL. That is how we will win games. The glaring weakness that is being exposed is our DL depth. We suck up the middle and it is not guys acting like they suck just to throw the league off course...it is a legitimate sucking that is going to ruin this season if its not fixed.

Or on the edge of Oblivion?

Is Coach Fox playing the part of the Great Deceiver? Not showing anything of how great this team can be? This has to be the worst preseason I have ever seen from the Panthers. I'm not talking about the 0-3 record, that means nothing to me. I'm talking about the lack of anything from this team, offence or defense. After watching last nights game, it got me to thinking. Is Coach Fox just hiding how good we are. Nobody seems to be very mad about anything. Even Jake is surprisingly calm! So are the Panthers the best actors ever? Not showing anything of the team that will take the field September 13. A complete deception? Man I hope so!!

if he is decieving every1 hes a genius and so r u for calling it but i doubt it

Beason and Davis didn't play last night, so don't get all upset about the defense just yet. The offense, without the penalties, could have put up some nice numbers. Im not predicting what the season will be until after the 4th pre-season game. I'm not a Jake hater, and I must say that when Smith and Muhammad are in and he's still hitting Moore and the TE's, it spreads the field more, and then having a potential triple threat in the back field, could make for an exciting year on the offensive side.

I'm not too worried about the defensive side, there were plenty of times that I saw in the Ravens game, where there were little dump-offs to Ray Rice, and Connor just couldn't get him, but Beason can. I have to say, looking into a pre-season game too much is just not worth it, because you don't know what the coaching staff and coordinators are thinking of doing Sept. 13th against Phili

i am just starting to read this series of comments and I cant believe someone would bring our names up in the same sentence as the f ing cards. Cant stand that team. I live in az and they make me sick. fluke for them. not sure for them this year.

By the way 8-8 is my prediction, unless our D shows up by week 3

Right now 9-7 seems like a stretch to me. Yes, everyone knows the defense is terrible. However, our offense relies so heavily on a strong rushing attack, and I'm concerned that we do not have the "step-in" depth kinda guys along the o-line this year to keep up the pace when guys get dinged.

or we could just have fun, enjoy the games and drink with friends.....

Exactly.

Told my wife yesterday, that I'm not worried how things are going this pre-season. Pre-season is about finding out who is going to make the team. Its fun for me to see these guys step up, showing they belong (Brown, Goodson). As far as our defense performance, sure would love to see them playing better, but I don't know what anybody expects when you are missing 4 major parts of the defense.

As far as the offense, there hasn't been a single game that there was major components missing from the offense (Steve Smith, Moose, one week, our top RB this week, our 2nd RB the entire pre-season).

I've enjoyed watching the team play, especially the rookies, and the other guys fighting for position on the team. Seems as our backup QB is settled, and is very capable, and making good decisions with the ball.

Anyways, I've been rambling for a bit now, so I'll bring this to a close.

Winning is good in pre-season, even showing some consistency would be even better, but that is a lot to expect when there are major components being sat so they are as good to go as possible for the season.
