Bene and Luke Make NFL's All-Under 25 Team

I didn't get why people were tripping over trading up for Bene.  That late in the draft if you see a player you covet that you can get for basically nothing, fug it, go for it.

After I studied up on him I loved the pick... was my favorite pick after KB.  It was great hearing about him balling out in OTAs and TC, and then seeing him play as well as he did during the season.

Been on the Bene wagon since day 1.

That is a lot of intelligence behind the front 4. They all seem articulate, cerebral, etc. in interviews, and it shows on the field. Character matters too--and they have it.

(Sorry Norman, you do not make this list because you have a bit of a history and you HELD THE INTERCEPTION WITH ONE HAND WHILE CROSSING THE FIELD WHEN EVERYONE IN THE STADIUM AND OUT OF IT KNEW THAT FALLING DOWN WAS THE SMART MOVE!!!)

Exactly what I was thinking about Bene, he wouldn't be showing up on NFL AM if he wasn't smart. He and Tyler Lewan both have a career in TV waiting (hopefully not for a long time though).

We are paying him peanuts though because he was such a grab in the draft. Something like $550,000. Just saying that if he continues to improve he will get a payday in a few years. CBs are hard to keep if they perform because they demand so much. To wit, the franchise tag for CB this year is $13.1M. 4th highest of any position...ahead of receiver and $100,000 less than LB. But good corners who want to get paid is a good problem to have.

Considering he was a 5th round pick hell fuging yes he was the steal. He's gonna keep getting better too.

Not just here--all teams.  However, you might say, as far as panther "steals" go, Norwell and Brown were more pleasantly surprising.

2014 could become "that draft" (even though I am including undrafted free agents)--the one everyone looks back on and says "that's what did it."

Like I said after we traded up to take him last year, I was thrilled and he was my favorite pick of the draft.

I was so locked in to James Hurst at that time, I just KNEW that is what we were doing.  It turned out well.
