the charges were dismissed last month apparently so who knows

In a nutshell:

Was arrested on 1 misdemeanor battery charge, couldn't charge him with domestic violence cause no proof she lived there even tho she claimed to be a live-in sex slave for the past 2 years, battery charge dropped because it was possible her damaged ear and scratches came from the pit bull in the house

So yeah, no criminal charges against him anymore, but the woman is still suing him in civil court and the NFL is still investigating what happened so suspension is a real possibility.

And the Saints are trying to trade the headache away but with his big roster bonus due, no takers so far

Source: Saints clear $4.8M of cap space by converting Jairus Byrd's $6M roster bonus to signing bonus. His cap # drops from $10.3M to $5.5M.

This is awesome. You all should be celebrating every contract they restructure. Not only does their cap hit go up in future years, but it makes them much harder to cut as the dead money goes up significantly.

Now who'd of thought signing a S with foot problems to the biggest contract in FA would turn so bad so quickly.

they just signed junior galette to a $40 million contract and are allegedly trying to trade him now

It was reported that Sean Payton just wants to cut him outright.

I'd guess Mickey Lomis explained to him what that might do to their cap.

The numbers on OTC say cutting him adds $750k. Yes, that's not the direction it needs to go to give the Saints some cap relief, but it's not adding $16 million and burying them, either. Cutting Galette is still possible.
