Browns Still Interested In TE Jermaine Gresham If Raiders Can’t Get Him Signed

Update:

Browns are still interested in signing free agent TE Jermaine Gresham if the Raiders are unable to get a long-term deal in place with him.

It would definitely be a surprise to see a cap-rich team like the Raiders elect to pursue Gresham over Thomas. However, this doesn’t mean that they won’t be players for Thomas.

Gresham, 26, is a former first-round pick of the Bengals back in 2010, but he never managed to live up to his draft status during his time with the team.

In 2014, Gresham caught 62 passes for 460 yards receiving and five touchdowns over the course of 15 games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 37 tight end out of 67 qualifying players.

Browns have placed a 2nd round tender on safety Tashaun Gipson.

He is definitely worth looking into.

2013 - 95 tackles, 5 INT
2014 - 52 tackles, 6 INT, 1 FF (only played 11 games)

PFF had him rated #10 safety overall this past season.

Only 24 years old.

Hmmmmm I don't know what to make of that. I think 2nd round might be a touch too rich but it's intriguing enough to make me think about it.

Johnson, 33, had two years remaining on his seven-year, $62.7 million contract, which includes $48 million guaranteed. He would have made base salaries of $10.5 million and $11 million over the final two years of the agreement.

The Texans will free up $8.825 million next year and another $12 million in 2016 by releasing him, according to OverTheCap.com’s calculator.

In 2014, Johnson has caught 85 passes for 936 yards receiving and three  touchdowns over the course of 15 games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 40 receiver out of 110

It's been beat to death but I'd love him for a price DG was willing to pay. I'm generally in favor of bringing former U players onto the squad. Olsen was a freshman the year after AJ left though so it's not like they played together in college.

I think that it's intriguing enough for an extended passing thought.

The more I thought about it the more I can't do it. Olsen was the 31st overall pick and we traded a 3rd RD for him (granted that was a bit of a steal). And Gipson was an UDFA. Don't think I could hack off on a 2nd rd this year with the draft as deep as it is. Although maybe that would be exactly why you would want to do it because you will still get value in the later rounds. Good god I'm glad I'm not a GM.

Report: Eagles Re-Sign OLB Brandon Graham To A Four-Year, $26M Deal

Graham will receive a four-year contract worth $26 million that includes $14 million guaranteed.
previously reported that Graham was deciding between the Eagles and Giants.

Graham, 26, played out his five-year, $21.925 million rookie contract, which included $14 million guaranteed. This season, Graham will have made a base salary of $1,670,500.

Over the course of 14 games, Graham has recorded 36 tackles, 5.5 sacks and four forced fumbles for the Eagles. Pro Football Focus has Graham rated as the No. 3 outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense this year, which is due in large part to an impressive rating as a pass-rusher.

This deal just set the market for what it will take to get Derrick Morgan, maybe a little more.
