NFL Free Agent News

Looks like the Patriots are the front runners for Harvin. Since he'll more than likely be cut today

Harvin as a Pat means Wes Welker x 3.  Bill Belichick and Brady's shiny new toy.  Belichick is chomping at the bit, and Harvin would be absolutely crazy not to go there.  Of course Harvin has a ring, but still.

Free Agent DE/OLB Brooks Reed Leaning Toward Signing With Falcons

OLB Brooks Reed is leaning toward signing with the Falcons at the start of free agency on Tuesday

four teams have expressed interest Reed with the Falcons being among this group.

Reed, 28, will be an unrestricted free agent in the coming days and all signs have been that he would test the open market this offseason, so this news shouldn’t come as a big surprise.

In 2014, Reed recorded 41 tackles, two sacks, an interception, and four pass defenses for the Texans. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 26 outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense out of 46 qualifying players.

I guarantee a certain guy named Watt helped with a lot of that dudes stats.

Fred Jackson Could Be Out In Buffalo If Bills Sign Bilal Powell

“several contending teams” are doing their homework on RB Fred Jackson, in the event he’s released.

This comes after reports that the Bills are interested in Jets free agent RB Bilal Powell, who obviously spent time with Rex Ryan in New York.

Jackson is monitoring these Powell reports closely.

the Bills are looking for a No. 3 running back who can contribute on special teams.

As of now, Jackson would be the team’s No. 2 option behind newly acquired RB LeSean McCoy. However, the Bills reportedly want Bryce Brown to start producing, especially given that they traded him a few years ago.

With Jackson still on their roster, Brown could have a tough time receiving carries.

Jackson, 34, still has one year remaining on his two-year, $5.24 million contract that includes a base salary of $2.35 million for the 2015 season.

In 2014, Jackson ran for 525 yards on 141 carries (3.7 YPC) to go along with 66 receptions, 501 yards receiving and three total touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 16 out of 57 qualifying players.

Jackson is done if he is cut.
