A league source told The Star on Saturday that the Chiefs are making a “strong push” to hold on to C Rodney Hudson, even though bids from other teams have come in at over $8 million-plus per year and are likely going higher.

Bilal Powell

Jets want to re-sign RB Bilal Powell, but they think he’s leaning towards signing with the Bills.

Raiders

Charles Robinson reports that the Raiders were not going to overpay for WR Randall Cobb, despite recent reports that they were prepared to offer him a blockbuster deal.

According to Robinson, the Raiders are trying to spend wisely and are still looking to add a receiver to help QB Derek Carr.

Saints

The Saints are one of the teams that have inquired about Falcons free agent CB Robert McClain.

Titans

Titans will not tender restricted free agent WR Kris Durham an offer

Vikings

Vikings have reached out to free agent S Taylor Mays.

i think we should look at Taylor Mays. He was stuck behind a starting safety because he's a tweener...and was at USC. He's a perfect fit for us since we play so many 2 LB sets. He's a guy I've had my eye on and would love to scoop up. Great fit for our scheme.

Buccaneers are “definitely” in market for Chiefs free agent S Ron Parkerand there appears to be “mutual interest.”

Chiefs free agent S Ron Parker has a “healthy market” developing that includes seven interested teams thus far.

Buccaneers, Falcons, Jets, and Giants are among the interested teams in Parker so far, along with the Chiefs.

Parker could be targeting as much as $6 million per year in his next contract.

Parker, 27, appeared in all 16 games last year and recorded 94 tackles, one sack, one interception, a forced fumble and 12 pass defenses for the Chiefs. Pro Football Focus has Parker rated as the No. 73 safety out of 87 qualifying players last year.

Parker had a cup of coffee with us in 2012. Didn't stick and we needed secondary help. Hope it's the Bucs or Falcons that overpay for him.

I don't, he seemed like a guy that was on the brink of greatness towards the end of last year from the way he was talked about, he just played in an already great secondary. I wish we would've held onto him, as I think he was just a late-bloomer.

Although I have to admit, 6 million seems like a lot for a guy that doesn't have a long track record of proven play.

Sounds like he got snaps because of Eric Berry's lymphoma, not being the best safety in training camp. Gotta be cautious about guys like that on good defenses.
