Randall Cobb, and Maclin are cool but...

Britt was the #1 for the Rams last year

2014 Rams receiving yards:

748 - WR Kenny Britt <-----------------------------

435 - WR Stedman Bailey

375 - WR Brian Quick

242 - WR Tavon Austin

159 - WR Chris Givens

118 - WR Austin Pettis

634 - TE Jared Cook

259 - TE Lance Kendricks

compare to 2014 Panthers:

1008 - WR Kelvin Benjamin

580 - WR Jerricho Cotchery

296 - WR Philly Brown

201 - WR Jason Avant (went to KC where he caught for 152 more)

151 - WR Brenton Bersin

1008 - TE Greg Olsen

115 - TE Ed Dickson

44 - TE Brandon Williams

Cotchery sure had a quiet 600-yard season, didn't he?  I had no idea he was that effective.

Leading a team in yards doesn't make you a true #1 in the sense of this discussion.  He was #1 on his team, but he came in at 57th in the NFL in receiving yards and that was clearly his best season.  The point is still there, that "in spurts" Shorts has done more than Moore or Britt as far as proving himself able to be a #1, and can consistently compete as a #2 easily when healthy.  I won't be mad if we sign Britt, or Moore, all of them are kinda in the same boat, but I do think Shorts poses the most upside when healthy of those 3, but that's just my opinion.

PFT reporting that the Packers offered Cobb a five year deal worth between eight and nine million a year, but he declined because he wants more than that.

I see pretty much zero chance of his signing here.

So more of a chance than re-signing Hardy?

I like our chances

PFT says Hardy might make a deal with the NFL.

He'll reportedly accept a suspension (without appeal) if they'll go ahead and reinstate him so he can seek his free agent payday.

Well, there is this article here:

http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/free-agency-cecil-shorts-derrick-morgan-major-wright-excel-with-new-teams-030415

"Yeah, it came to that point a couple of times, where I'd get a little frustrated just not being able to be on the field, so I turned it off and went to play with my kids to calm down. I didn't want to rile myself up when I can't do anything about it," Shorts told FOX Sports by phone this week. "This year's playoffs was most frustrating for me because I'm sitting there, thinking, 'I know I can help the team. Arrrgh! I can't wait to get in the playoffs.' So a lot of the games I just turned off."

For some reason I believe that Carolina was being referenced here.  And I got that feeling in a couple of other places in the article as well. Between that, our cap circumstances, and his sales job in this article, I am kinda warming up to the idea.

Denarius Moore is still my guy though.  Moore and Shorts would make for interesting additions to our corps.

I agree. I got that feeling from the article too. Would be happy to have him. Good article by the way.

great hands especially in traffic but he doesn't appear to be that fast. he gets chased down a bit based on the tape I have watched. nevertheless he would still in the right direction if indeed we add an additional threat. he's not the answer but he is useful.
