LT vs RT

Scouts over react when it comes to college LTs. I feel like they say that every LT would be better if they moved inside or to RT even if that player has no experience at anything besides LT. They just overreact since LT is the most important position on the line. 

 

Truth.  It's like if they don't think the guy is the next Jonathan Ogden, then he'll need to be moved to RT.

That said I would value LT more since thats our blindside but you can't pass on a possible premier RT.  Remember when Otah was healthy?  We smacked mofos in the mouf.  Cam could live under play action if we had that kind of body there

From how these analysts talk about it, you would think nobody coming out of college is good enough to be a LT

You are NOT going to get a top LT in free agency....teams do not let them go.

Bulaga, Newton, Parnell and Dunlap are all above average starting tackles and are all available.

That's because they've been burnt over the last 4 years talking up first round tackles who have struggled. Unless you're willing to spend two seasons rotating a rookie into a starting tackle position, most first round tackles will not succeed.

Your LT needs to be above average if you want your qb to survive a season... one way or the other DG is getting a LT that can hold his own against the best pass rushers.
