Our beat writer, Ol' Joe, is sitting at an Applebee's bar in lime green Crocs, ankle high Russell Athletic socks, Jean shorts, and a "This guy needs a beer" t-shirt drinking two-for-one Bud Lights while other beat writers are out there doing work.

C'mon man, I know you don't like the guy but this post is just ridiculous

Could be your next career dude. You're due for a jeans shorts phase.

Kevin Johnson from Wake ... my favorite CB to watch in this class

Really liked what I saw from Wake Forest CB Kevin Johnson

last night [vs Clemson]. Skinny but 6-0 and feisty, physical. Definitely #Steelers style.

Pittsburg Steelers and Kevin Johnson are a match made in

heaven. My favorite CB in this draft.

Steelers sent a large contingent to Wake Forest's Pro Day yesterday to meet KJ, including General manager Kevin Colbert, defensive backs coach Carnell Lake, player personnel coordinator Dan Rooney, Jr. and pro personnel coordinator Brandon Hunt

The Steelers representatives even met with KJ's parents yesterday:

Over 25 NFL scouts and GM's lined the field on Thurs. night [for the Wake Forest vs Clemson game]. Good story on what they saw [from KJ]

Nov 6 CBS Sports:

"Wake Forest CB Kevin Johnson delivers vs. Clemson... the ACC is much more than Jameis Winston and the reigning champion Florida State Seminoles. A terrific Clemson pass rush led by projected first round pick Vic Beasley was the dominant force in the Tigers' 34-20 win over Wake Forest Thursday night, but the game remained close in large part due to big plays from Demon Deacons cornerback Kevin Johnson ... Johnson put on an all-conference-worthy showing that was sure to catch the attention of scouts. It didn't take long for Johnson's big play ability to show up ... Johnson's big plays were critical to Wake Forest remaining competitive in this contest as the Demon Deacons struggled to move the ball effectively against Clemson's ferocious pass rush. Johnson's best asset - other than his playmaking ways, of course - is his natural cover skills. He's very light on his feet, showing great quickness and fluidity"

Charlotte Observer:

"Johnson worked out in front of scouts from 23 NFL teams at Wake Forest’s pro day Monday, showing off his impressive footwork and range of motion... The Carolina Panthers, who had a scout at Monday’s pro day, own the 25th selection in April’s draft and are in need of a cornerback. ... Johnson’s fluidity and his 4.52-second 40-yard dash make him a late-first round target after a stellar final two seasons with the Deacons... last season teams didn’t throw the ball his way nearly as much, even though Johnson frequently was isolated with the opponent’s top receiver.

“Every game they would take one or two shots at him and then that was it,” Clawson said ... perhaps his best game of the season was against eventual playoff semifinalist Florida State. .... That came one week after Johnson was ejected for targeting a Louisville receiver. But the kind of physical play tha mightt get flagged at the collegiate level can be lauded in the pros."

@CollegeGameDay : Hit of the Day: Wake Forest DB Kevin Johnson lays out Florida State's Kermit Whitfield.

Love it.  That play would draw a reactionary flag in today's NFL too, but that's a good, clean shoulder to shoulder hit separating the receiver from the ball.

Kevin Johnson (Wake Forest CB) might have gotten ejected twice for targeting, but the sonofabiscuit is the best cover guy I've watched yet.

I can't drive this point home enough. If you graded players on technique & how to cover , Kevin Johnson would score 100 across the board.

SportsTalk 790 in Houston Jayson Braddock @ JaysonBraddock Feb 24

Kevin Johnson has the best coverage skills in this draft, technique & instincts. Could watch him backpedal all day. So smooth.

WF DB coach Derrick Jackson @ Coach_Jackson Feb 17

Another great commentary on Kevin Johnson : [ESPN draft analyst Kevin] Weidl says Johnson , "has the most natural man coverage skills in this year's class."

Woah! Watching Kevin Johnson on YouTube. He got that

Grimes Tenacity and Ball skills . FO'REAL
