Kevin Johnson met with the panthers.

Here's the bit on NFL.com about him today:

Wake Forest: Johnson impresses scouts

Big draw: CB Kevin Johnson

Don't forget: CB Bud Noel

Notable attendees: Steelers GM Kevin Colbert and defensive backs coach Carnell Lake; representatives from 21 other teams.

The skinny: Johnson was the star of the show and smartly chose to stand on his good numbers at the combine. NFL Media senior analyst Gil Brandt said Johnson looked "very good" going through drills in front of scouts, which should continue to fuel his rise up draft boards and make him a potential first-round pick.

Pro-days on deck for Tuesday: Auburn, Duquesne, James Madison, New Mexico State, Northwestern, Pitt, Sam Houston State, Tuskegee.

ESPN David Newton:

"If the Carolina Panthers use the 25th pick on a cornerback, Johnson could be their guy.

At 6-foot-1 and 185-pounds, Johnson could fill the role of shutdown corner opposite Josh Norman so that 2014 draft pick Bene' Benwikere could move back to nickelback.

While offensive tackle and a speed wide receiver to play opposite Kelvin Benjamin are Carolina's top needs, a potential shutdown corner isn't far behind

...

Johnson didn't show elite speed at the combine, running a 4.52 40. But he felt good enough about that time that he didn't run the 40 on Monday [at Wake Forest's Pro Day]"

Both of those WF corners are going to play in the NFL. KJ has ideal size but Bud is the better ball hawk.

Always leary of drafting out of WF. Those players often peak in college because they have such good coaching and don't improve a ton in the pros. But you are almost always drafting a model citizen and someone you can count on.

I wouldn't take KJ in the first.

Kevin Johnson has Joe Haden type coverage skills. Wake

Forest didn't even showcase him as much as they could. Can

play zone / off / man

The more I watch Wake Forest CB Kevin Johnson the more I like. Easy mover and instinctive.

NFL Draft Scout Matt Miller @ nfldraftscout Feb 10

[when asked his opinion on KJ] Very, very fluid in coverage. Needs to add good weight

I like WakeForest CB Kevin Johnson A LOT more based on the coaches film

Little NFL draft note: My phone is blowing up about Kevin

Johnson (CB- Wake Forest). NFL folks love this kid.
