Way to go out on a limb, and suggesting Panthers keep two of their own, and one that was here two seasons ago.

So, what you are saying is if he will sign for 3 years at 1.5 million per season, then he is a typical Gettleman free agent signing.

Yeah, but underwhelming moves are Gettleman's modus operandi so far.  Sure I would like to see a splash, but in order to keep myself grounded, I expect the barely discernible ripples.

 

I'd think that Nicks would inject plenty of excitement into the fan base, especially on a relative basis.

 

underwhelming moves are what Gettleman has been forced into by a fugged up cap. judging him based on two seasons under extreme cap restriction isn't really a fair assessment.

 

He will never make the stupid, big splash play, value is the word that seems to best describes his moves.  As we get more cap space, he'll sign higher priced players, and will always get good value for the Panthers' dollars.

My prediction is we only try to sign one of those guys...Ginn. Hardy and Bell are gone. Conte MAY be a target but I doubt it.

In order of actual possibility:

 

1.  Bell at minimum - I wouldn't mind having him back for depth purposes.

2.  Ginn - Come back to where he had actual career success

3.  Nicks - Be ready to come for cheap Hakeem!  

4.  Conte - Just doesn't seem like a Panthers' safety...

5.  Hardy - I guess the Panthers said no way because they were throwing up a GIANT SMOKE SCREEN to push down his value even more!  Right?!?  He'll play for vet minium to prove he wants to come back!.....Or some other team is going to give him $10+ million a year...

I stopped at greg hardy, not because I thought it was beyond stupid at that point (even though it was), but because it required me to keep clicking through pages to see the next one... I hate those. So I gave up.

Anyway, it's a dumbass list. Conte most likely won't make it but a few more years in the league before he completely concusses himself out of it. Not only the concussions, but he is extremely injury prone.
