House of Cards, Season 3 (Spoilers)

What a brilliant show.  Top 5 all-time imo.

 

I need to re-watch the whole season to pick out some details but...

 

Obviously the main thrust of this season was Frank and Claire's relationship.  We'd seen some cracks build in previous seasons, but neither of them seem to mind the other fuging around (no real shock there) as long as it furthered their defined goals.

 

Claire seemed to lose sight of that tho and started wanting more for herself, and of course Frank, being the controlling, ruthless asshole he is, gives her as much as he can, but keeps as much real power for himself as he can.

 

Both Spacey and Wright deserve awards for their acting, Spacey in particular.

 

 

Doug:  I knew he wasn't going to let Rachel live... he seemed to be really considering it, but in the end I knew he had to do it and would.

 

Dunbar:  She started with noble intentions and is falling down the path of power, pretty funny to see her make the play with the journal and have Frank call her on it.  Then when Frank got the phone from Doug and told her to fug off, god that was great.

 

 

Interesting that they just cut Mendoza out so abrubtly... I guess they had to given the Dunbar storyline.

 

I found Petrov's character to be interesting in that he's just like Frank and I think Frank hated that.  Petrov seemed to best Frank at every turn... I suspect we'll see Frank turn the tables on him next season somehow.

 

 

Two characters that are really creepy to me are Meechum and Tom (the author) both of them are really weird to me.

 

 

One thing I love about the show as a middle aged guy is all the hot 40 something women they have on the show.  That's a real plus.

The scene with Tom and Frank, all I was thinking was, come on Mr. President, don't suck a dick in the White House!

Petrov is a player. Dirty but respectable. I wish he got more screen time

World War 3 is in the making. I could see it and thought it would start this season. Frank is evil, but I find that he's the only one that I root for.

Obviously they could be heading that way, and I definitely think we'll see more of Petrov, but I don't see a war happening.

I don't see how frank possibly Survives a divorce while running. There's no way the public would still vote for him.

They won't get divorced, he'll give her something she wants...

The whole season though was realizing the partnership between her and frank has been completely one sided. She wants just as much as frank and I don't see a way she gets that. Their relationship is done.

Could see Frank making her VP to satisfy her. Why write out Mendoza he was more interesting thanDunbat. Thought it dragged out to long. The Russian President was great don t see WW3 breaking out but they will expand on them.

I hate Doug now about as much as I hate how much weight Rachel had lost since last season when her booty was righteous. Her butt was gone this season.

Set in a realistic world. It's fiction but we aren't going to see a dragon fly over the White House and Ned stark come back from the dead.
