Winners and Losers from Baltimore game

btw, I'm talking only about the offense. The defense doesn't seem to remember how to tackle. They run flailing their arms then diving at the ball carrier's feet going for a shoe string tackle only to get their hand stepped on everytime.

Did you see the play where one of our DTs (I believe it was Favorite) ran straight into a Double Team and didn't make any forward progress but hilariously swung both of his arms as though he was some sort of human windmill? For some reason it looked hilarious to me.

It has been mentioned many times this preseason. There was going to be little or no game planning.

Go Panthers

It's also been mentioned several times that this was the preseason game where they actually do game-plan. I hope all the people who said that were wrong (Gantt, Chandler, etc.) because if they did plan, we're in trouble.

My 2 cents

1. Kenny Moore is looking good, definitely has taken Ryne's spot.

2. The more time Goodson gets the better, he played very well yesterday, hell of a catch.

3. Peppers played pretty well yesterday, he looked motivated.

4. I wasn't really impressed with Delhomme at all yesterday.

5. Moose still has it.

6. The defense can't tackle for poo.

7. Hayden looked better but we need to get some one ASAP.

8. Say what you want about Dwayne Jarrett but I saw him open on several occasions last night and he wasn't thrown to.

I disagree about Jake being a loser. I would say he was better than "wasnt horrible". I'd say he was decent.

With Peppers typical lackluster preseason play. He seemed to have a good motor tonight, and really hustled and put some pressure on the QB.

I went last night and tried to focus on Peppers. He works pretty hard and plays smart. The sack by Brayton? early on was there b/c of Peppers' play preventing the pass. He also showed some good hustle on some others plays flushing the action to the other side of the field but no one was able to step up and capitalize and help out.

Peppers really makes few errors and I think one of the main reasons is so quiet some games is b/c teams do intentionally try to stay away from him and make him a nonfactor......he needs some help and imo just doesn't get enough.

yeah, it is tough to tell if Jarrett's lack of production is b/c of Jarrett or lack of opportunity. Jake missed him on an open route and I think over threw Moose instead. Jake also missed a wide open Smitty in the redzone also opting for another WR (not sure why Jake didn't have his usual radar lock on Smitty).

Jake hasn't had much action this preseason with all starters together so I don't think we should be shocked they are still a tad off. He hit King and Moose on some nice plays and for the most part played pretty smart football yesterday.....would have been nice to see him get into the end zone though.

Peppers outright caused the brayton sack in the game last night, infact he did more to get brayton the sack the brayton did.

If you're grousing about the game and you choose Jake as the target of your frustration, then you must be living in the shadow of the Arizona game or something. He had a fine game, with a good completion percentage, high yards per attempt, and a rating of around 100, which is almost exactly what he did last year at home. He took two good sacks and held on to the ball, which is a good thing. In short, he played like a good, solid veteran under center. Quarterback play is NOT our problem so far this season.

My guess about Jake is after that AZ game, he will be very conservative and take low risks, at least towards the beginning of the year until he gains confidence back and is feeling comfortable. I don't expect a high TD total again this year, we will pass the ball to move it down field and run it in when we get close.

Kenny Moore: Looks like not only will he make the team, he's going to be the slot receiver. Good for him, he looks uber-comfortable on the field.

Kenny runs great routes and knows how to get open. My friend and I went out last night. My friend and I know Kenny thru Butler HS, (We are really good friends with the HC of Butler) and we ran into him last night. Great guy, his versatility as a player will be something that will make him a great pick up. Also, we all talked about his role in the game and his knowledge of the offense and running the routes, he told us, being a grad of Wake, he is friends with Ricky Proehl. He worked a lot with Ricky Proehl before the season on technique and what it takes to be in the NFL. Expect to see Kenny as the #3, IMO, and will have many key plays in some wins this year.

Also, Kenny was hangin with Steve Smith, Jon Beason. I'm sure their were more but those were the only two players I saw. Some drunk guy walked to Smitty and practically felt him up. Smitty was not happy and let the guy know he better be careful, then the guy apologized and just said, "Man, I just love you Steve, you're awesome". Then they hugged it out, Smitty walked off with Beason, and the drunk guy just started saying OMG, that was SS, over and over... Very Funny

Funny...I was sayin' to my Dad (Who is a Wake grad and is very interested to see how K.Moore is doing) that Kenny reminds me exactly of Ricky Proehl. Not too fast, but runs great routes and gets open. He seems to have the Jake's confidence as well. Too bad it's at the expense of two freakin' draft picks.

My problem with Jake this preseason is that he just does not look comfortable out there. He had a mojo in the past...but seems to have lost his edge this preseason.

I am not ready to throw himunder the bus, but there is just something off.
