Panthers Mock Draft Rounds 1 - 3

When Gettleman tells you how deep receiver is, he is telling you there are prospects available in rounds 4-7

Can you confirm the group of kev, corey and cam where hangout buds? 4-7 may not land a true #2, but 1-3 should. Kev and corey are the only keepers on WRs, imo. I want one form 1-3 and another form 4-7 ala just like your 4th round punt returner( even if they land ginn/jones).

The value/impact of a WR(or OT,DB,DL) in third will be much better than my fav h-back o leary.

Late third round is not a high draft pick, but keep trolling. You are getting a little better at it.

A third rounder needs to not only contribute to a team, but do it quickly and substantially.

Go back and look at the Panthers draft history over the past few years, specifically Hurney's end. One of the reasons the Panthers ate poo so hard was we weren't getting anything out of the third round. They were nailing the firsts, but they were drafting undersized projects.

A few years ago a third rounder was called a first day pick, and you don't spend one of those on a guy who's position hasn't really been used since integration.

As far as having good hands, who gives a poo if Nose tackles are going to be running him down from behind?

Round 1 - DJ Humphries, OT, Florida

Round 2 - Preston Smith, DE, Mississippi St

Round 3 - Doran Grant, CB, Ohio St

In reference to what we think we know pre-workouts, the first two picks wouldn't be half bad. I don't think that Grant will be the BPA in the third round though, because there may be too many WRs that grade out better.

We haven't even gotten started about the relative value of having a niche blocker under contract control for four years relative to every other position that isn't a kicker.

You continue to characterize him incorrectly and then base arguments off of your characterization. Not sure its worth the effort of typing it out.

Clemson defensive back has a hard time catching him. Don't buy his 40 time at the combine.

I'm starting to like this kid, he's got serious pluck once he catches the ball.

Still think we'd be better off with a CB or WR in 3 because of the extra depth in these groups and the bigger improvement in areas of need.

Could be. But the difference between a 3rd round CB and a 4th or even 5th round CB in this draft is negligible.
